A Level Headed Review Week 4 2024

Steele really needs to work on keeping both hands on the ball. That was just a good strip tackle but if he had kept both hands on the ball he wouldn't have fumbled.

PAT! Over threw Kelce right into the defenders hands. Gotta be better, I feel like he is forcing the deep ball.

Rice I really hope it's nothing long term or our offense is going to change dramatically.

Kareem Hunt sure looks like he still has "it". Has had some really good runs and catches out of the backfield. Can't wait for him to become more comfortable with the Offense. We need all the help we can right now.

Kelce looking like his old self again.

Jaylen Watson with the behind the line of scrimmage stop on 3rd and 1. Great defensive play.

Ariaiza seems to be getting his pin punting down. ST's are showing up and making the Chargers life hard.

Defense is really stepping up and covering for our Offense.

X gonna run right past ya for the TD.

I know we are short at WR but for the love of god stop throwing the ball to Moore....anybody else on the bench?

65 yard FG short by just a few yards - that's pretty darn impressive in its own right. Silly Chargers with the 55 yd FG miss.

Watson was wide open in the EZ on the 1 yard PM run. Also, gotta hand it to the Chargers D-line for playing very disciplined with their lane/gap assignments keeping Mahomes from stepping up and creating with his feet.

Hicks with the nice extension to almost get a pick on Herbert.

Is it just me or does Harbaugh look like he is about to have a mental breakdown?

Our Red Zone defense has really been impressive. CJ and FAU really made that 4th down turn over happen.

LOVE seeing Hunt crawling on the ground doing the "feed me" motion ****ING LOVE THAT HE IS BACK.

Perine with the hard earned TD. Love seeing us be able to run the ball again. As of this writing:

Hunt 12 Rushes for 65 yards 5.4 YPC

CHRIS JONES with the timely sack. Chamari Connor created that sack by drawing the back away from the jones pressure.

X gonna run past ya again for the critical first down. That play right there is going to win games for us. Go ahead we'll take the 5 yard under and let our fastest guy run right past you for the first down.

My guess is if Hunt shows out this year he earns at least a 2 year contract. I really feel like, especially after watching today's game, that Hunt has a lot more left in the tank than we have given him credit for. He really didn't have a lot of miles on him behind Chubb...this could be another Marcus Allen type guy playing into his mid thirties.

I totally agree. He definitely doesn’t have the wear and tear you’d think for a rb his age. I could see the chiefs extending him. At the same time, will he play well enough that he becomes too expensive? Maybe he’ll take a hometown discount after all he’s been through

I think he wants to be with Pat. He regrets not being able to stay with KC and will finish his career here. There are somethings money can't buy and one of those things are legitimate runs at SB Championships.

It gets UGLY CONSISTENTLY with KC sometimes, but more often than not they have the institutional, baked in champion franchise design that everyone else is trying to copy

Also....coming into the season who would have thought we would be sitting at 4-0 thru the first four games? Ravens/Bengals and Chargers are all tough wins and I think most of us thought there would be at least one loss thru those games. The fact that we won them all is a testament to this team and particularly the Defense despite our offensive turnovers. I am just beyond impressed.

Reid said in post game he's not down the kid, it's just the typical planet gameday overreaction.

Good write up.
I actually think Kelce, with blessings form coaching staff, has been limiting game day efforts to preserve his body. With Rice out he came alive when needed.

Let’s hope we stay healthy.

Xavier Worthy is the best rookie WR Andy has ever had and he needs to get him involved more in the intermediate passing game.

He’s been so so good. I really think it’s just a matter of time for him.

Nice recap, DC.

Today Kelce proved he hasn't lost a step. Pretty sure the coaches have been giving Rice the heavy load while saving Kelce for later in the season.

Really surprised at how well Hunt ran today. I fully expected him to be a 'meh' player after sitting on his couch for awhile. The dude has vision.

Maybe it’s time to be running team. F the mvp trophies.

Seems like we were averaging 5+ yards per carry today.

Get rid of the RPO. Run and run and play action

Bring back the 1990 DeBerg offense.

I don't know why they didn't try for Worthy on a deep pass after the successful TD.

Watson was open more than on that one possible TD that Romo pointed out. I don't know why Mahomes doesn't look to him more often.

They need to admit Moore was a mistake and give someone else a try.

Jawaan Taylor is good for 3 penalties a game.

Run defense is phenomenal. Pass rush was better today.

Cook looked a step slow.

Oh.

So Steele, with a track record for shitty ball security was outperforming Kareem Hunt in practice?

Gonna have to miss me with that nonsense. Steele's only asset is that he likes to plow into and over people, ball security be damned.

Just kind of flipped through the game, knowing the final score, but after the early struggle it seemed like Mahomes was having fun so to speak... some gunslinger in his throws, including one that sticks out where he forced it into Kelce.

Liked what I saw from Hunt.

And knowing the Chargers didn't score after the first quarter, it was impressive and amusing to see them get deep into Chiefs territory a few times knowing they'd get nothing out of it.

The last time Steele was on the field in an actual game Steele put up 72 yards. While Kareem hunt was a guy 32 teams did not want to sign. I’m also sure the chiefs were reluctant to give a huge workload to a guy who’s only practiced a few weeks. Prior to today Steele only had 1 fumble.

So yeah, there was nothing at all wrong with the decision to start off with Steele.
