An Excellent Colin Cowherd Take on the Chiefs

Well worth your five minutes.

I always appreciate a good third party POV like this. Feels like he’s giving it to everyone as straight up and real as possible.

And on that show, he's consistent. In fact, he is one of very few already putting Reid and Mahomes in legitimate GOAT discussions every so often. He's got his buddies - clearly in LA with the Rams and Payton with Denver for example - but he is consistent.

Yeah, and it feels more raw, less scripted on his podcast. You get a cleaned up/polished version on Fox, more of a first-take response on The Volume.

And you get it without all the yelling and talking over each other dipstickery most other shows/podcasts have sunk to.

Absolutely. The players on both sides are believing the Chiefs are going to win and so they make it happen, whether consciously or subconsciously.

Well hasn't been poisoned for you. Keep it that way. I've already heard him say far too much heinously dumb shit for the sake of content to ever take him seriously.

Dude has straight-up admitted he will talk about what gets ratings.

He will pick the opposite stance to the popular one every time. And it works.

Nah. He had a stance on Baker Mayfield for about 5 years. Didn't change it until last season, and really he didn't completely change his position until after the playoffs. Colin will change his mind, but he's not a butterfly about it.

Some days I do. Some days I don't.

I think he's a generally sharp guy who can be a contrarian and a bomb-thrower without being a drolling dipshit like Skip Bayless.

That's worth giving him some credit for.

That just makes him boring as **** for me personally. There's plenty of milquetoast shit posters taking up air time nowadays.

Colin says nice things.

And then there's Nick Wright, whose show has surpassed Colin's in ratings and in entertainment

He had a lot of great things to say about the defense. The offense, not so much...
