What's really stupid about that is the fact that Patrick has an agent that I assume makes a percentage of whatever is negotiated. So the agent makes more if Patrick makes more, and makes less if Patrick makes less. I'm sure the agent (a professional at the job) fully informed Patrick about the negotiations and what he could possibly make, so anything Florio would have to add is superfluous. Patrick and his agent agreed to that deal with full awareness of what they were doing and Florio is an idiot to presume that he has insight that they lacked.

The best part is Clark and Veach are about to do it to the NFL again.

Once Burrow and Herbert sign, the Chiefs are going to sign Mahomes to some monster extension that will be team friendly but pay Mahomes a metic shit ton.

If the Bengals and Burrow are smart they copy the Mahomes deal in its structure. Basically Veach is doing all the work in figuring out how to deal with a roster and elite QB.
