***The Official MMA Thread***

Excited about an upcoming fight? Want to make predictions, or just give people a heads-up that there are some fights on? We can do it here.

(Also a good place to complain, dicuss, and agrue about the outcomes)

Mmmm, I want to see Vitor/Anderson 2.

Additionally, Mark Hunt got his visa, so the fight with JDS is on.

Sadly, I was away from the TV and comp for most of the event. I did manage to catch the Vitor and Jacare fights.

Vitor had no respect for Luke. While I'm a big Vitor fan, I was really disappointed by Luke's defensive skills, footwork, and inability to aggressively work TDs. Granted, he probably should have gotten a "warm up" fight, as the transition to the UFC is pretty significant.

I really am thrilled for the Hunt/JDS fight due to the style matchup. I'm starting to anticipate that JDS looks for a TD and tries to finish the fight on the ground though, which is a bummer because I'd love to see a stand up war b/w the two. A k1 fight with those guys would be worth every bit of $50.

Vitor needs to fight in the U.S. and quit hiding in Brazil where they protect his ass and TRT...

I don't really care. So many fighters both on the pro and ammy circuit are abusing performance enhancers (TRT, HGH, steroids, etc) that it makes no difference to me. Additionally, the amount of use via supplements that are allowed with minimal intelligent scrutiny makes it seem to me that it doesn't matter at all.

Additionally, if Overeem/Sonnen/Marquardt/etc. can get approved for TRT use in the states, then there is no reason why Vitor can't.

Personally, I'd wish they'd just ****ing ban it like the IOC but until then, I see no problem with it since nearly everyone in the sport is using a form of a performance enhancer.

Additionally, **** the IOC and I'm going to watch the Lentz, Lucas/Martins, and Dos Anjos/Dunham fights.

Maybe I'll come back with some fine gifs.

I don't...and I don't think anyone else does either.

At this point it's silly to put anyone in front of Anderson Silva unless its either Jon Jones or GSP, esp at this point of his career. Just how many more people does AS have to make look irrelevant in his weight division before the superfight is made? Anderson Silva is ****ing 38 yrs old.

Jones vs Silva
GSP vs. Silva

I don't care which one it is, just make the damn fight, and have Cowboys Stadium host it, make it one of the biggest fight cards of all time. UFC needs something like that right now to be honest. No one cares about the HW division anymore, Jon Jones is doing the same thing Anderson Silva and GSP are doing, cleaning out the division.

Personally, I'd matchup Jones and Silva, because I think Silva would destroy GSP in a matter of a couple rds.

Here's a good UFC 100 type of mega card that would be a seller at Cowboys stadium:

A.Silva vs. J.Jones (either this or GSP, whatever make one of the fights happen, Silva isn't getting any younger)
Cormier vs. Velasquez (I'd rather watch this than to see another JDS matchup)
Sonnen vs. W.Silva (move this match back...with eachothers UFC careers on the line - whoever loses has to say goodbye)
Belfort vs. Hall ( <-- simply because this can be a guy the UFC can build around)
Rousey vs. whoever else is in contention in women's MMA (I don't like women being in MMA because it's silly, but this would be simply for a marketing/PR $$$ cow standpoint)

Personally, I want Silva/Vitor 2 and Jones/Machida around the same time frame. Then I want Jones/Silva.

Anderson would seriously hurt Georges.

I don't know if Dan's going to fight Cain, they've talked about it but the stuff I've hear was that it would only be for a ridiculous amount (sounds like Chuck/Tito only these two are actually really close)

I love Wanderlei and I think there is no way he wins that fight.

Hall is overhyped and really lacking in a large quantity of skill sets to be matched up with Vitor.

I'm excited for Ronda's next fight. Women's MMA needs to step it up though. There just aren't enough viable contenders for ROusey after this fight, Tate2, and Cyborg at the moment.

I wouldn't be surpised to see Weidman walk out with the belt

Watching the Dunham/Dos Anjos fight. Dunham really didn't utilize his best skills IMO.Additionally, his lead head kick off combos is pretty slow and would be probably better suited going to the body.

Really? I like Weidman and watched him in NCAAs/ADCC before he started MMA but I just don't see it. I'm also biased as **** towards Anderson.

Yeah, I can put my finger on it, but he seems to be something different than the other guys in the division. Just a notch above everyone except Silva. Anderson is also 38 so he had to decline eventually.

I miss the old Vitor with the crazy hair.. Before his sister was abducted & he lost his mind!! I agree I had expected so much more from Luke going into the fight... But, I was happy for Vitor..

UFC is going to use that spinning back foot knock out footage like crazy !!!

Is it me.. Or does anyone notice that you have to be bald to talk in the ring as an announcer ..
& that when Dana white & Joe rogan stand there yelling at each other before
A pay preview starts hyping it up they look like two shinny boobs!!

I agree... Even though I hope he does beat Anderson..
( I would love to see him get humbled)
I am biased too... I have sat in that arena.. Watched him fight to many times..
Years ago in Chicago. . Or was it Vegas, they all blend together both were fights where Sean Sherk was fighting..
Anderson actually apologized ( how many times now ) for his performance.
He could have ended to fight but he ... Danced around for all of the rounds till the very end.. Never making contact.
