The fate of Chris Jones 2023 edition
Appears the Chiefs and Chris Jones are at the beginning of a contract dispute



Speculation has been that the two sides are "far apart" on a deal

So Chiefs Planet.... how do we think this will play out (poll coming)

Will the Chiefs pay up and meet Chris Jones demands? If so, how much will it end up costing?

Will the Chiefs not be able to meet Chris Jones demands and end up trading him? If so, what kind of haul can we expect?

I've really loved watching Chris Jones wreck shit for the Chiefs, it always sucks when the business side of the NFL forces teams into tough decisions.

Well, it looks like they didn't place him the reserve did not report list. I fully expected that they would. Maybe they're close to a deal?

I totally get what you are saying but… I don’t know, I guess it depends on wether or not CJ’s agent is just following his client’s wishes or if he is giving him bad advice. If the former, I agree with you. Dude isn't coming back until week 8, not sure why anyone thought otherwise. His time with this team is going to come to an ugly end, much like what happened with many players during the Patriots dynasty. It is what it is, may as well prepare yourself for it.

This year will be the ultimate test for Andy, Pat, Kelce and Spags. They haven't let us down yet, so I have no reason to think they will now. Jones doesn't seem to understand he's a cog in the Kansas City machine, not the engine.

NFL players are, let's face it, generally pretty stupid. Agents like to take advantage of that and are also sometimes pretty stupid themselves.
