The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins.

NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first.

After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason.

Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June.

Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy.

Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season.

Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses.

Believing that Toney can be a WR1 isn't the same as relying upon him to be a WR1 given his tremendous inconsistency and injury history.
Go take it up with James Palmer who reported and said on TV that his sources inside the Chiefs organization view Toney as the #1 WR.

Oh you mean the same James Palmer tweet where he said the plan was the bring back JuJu and then he signed a very manageable deal with the Patriots? That one?

Again, you tell me where the organization has said the plan is for Toney to be WR1 and we can have a real conversation. Comparing that to anything involving Taylor - who already had a press conference with the team where his playing LT was openly discussed - is sheer idiocy.

With Andy Reids most recent statement regarding our WR lineup, I don’t think we will be making any trades for obj or dehop. Realistically, with the amount of money we have left for the year, it would make no sense. I don’t see obj or dehop adding anything to our offense that we haven’t already seen. Our defense needed this free agency more than anything. Hopefully they’re still a priority going into the draft.

Would love to land DHop or OBJ and be in a better position to go BPA in the draft. That being said...

If we trade up into the early 20s to grab say Jordan Addison we have a pretty damn talented wide receiving core. People need calm their asses down.

Kelce - Best receiving TE ever
Toney - 1st rounder
Addison - 1st rounder
Moore - 2nd rounder
MVS - Proven veteran. One of the best "#4/5" options in the entire NFL.

Mahomes will tear defense apart with that kind of talent and diverse skillsets.

Were you talking about the press conference where Taylor said that he was talked to about the LT position but that he was willing to and remained open to playing RT?

Dude, it is all conjecture. It can all be spun. My whole thing with all of this is depending on what happens in the draft and so on will determine who plays where and how much.
This time of year if you believe what is being said from anywhere you are likely to be making a mistake.

DeHop would be crazy not to sign with one of the 3-4 Super Bowl favorites.

Anything less would be stupid for him at this point.

Money should NOT be his big issue, winning at this point of his career should be.
