Must Watch Series

All this talk about series, how network TV Sucks, and how hard it is to find quality shows, and some excellent shows that fly under the radar, I need a comprehensive review of all the series I need to see.

For good entertainment, I would be willing to buy DVD sets. But I've recently picked up HBOGO by kiping it from my parents, and recently got Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Here is a listing of shows that I currently own or have seen all the episodes of. If it isn't on the list, just assume I haven't seen it.

Spoiler!

Here is a listing of shows on my list to watch (mostly due to this thread)
Spoiler!

I work a ****ton, so it is hard for me catch a series while it is on to get it on the DVR, but I recognize the entertainment value and am willing to go after the Must See shows. Accordingly, I'm not necessarily looking for anything that is still running. I'm up for watching stuff that has run its course.

So what say you, Planet? Which shows should I see?

UPDATED for the shows I've seen recently.

Season 2 just has WAY too much Brian.

And I don't get why every gay character on television has to be a super-neurotic queen. I live in a damn college town, I know plenty of gay people. I've known ONE to even remotely approximate the sort of hyper-effeminate, self-absorbed, manic figure that seemingly every gay person in a television show is.

And to make him essentially a co-star, I'm guessing he's had more screen time than Ford this year, is a poor choice. He removes you from any sort of reality.

He has some funny moments, don't get me wrong. But that's what his character is - comic relief. Or a sort of plot device to turn a story. But I just cannot stomach him as a central character in the show.

I mean at some point he's trying to have a conversation with Derek and starts going into how Derek should make out with a guy he wants to fight (I won't go into the why of it).

It's just so over the top and distracting.

Did anyone else finish Dark Matter on Apple? I really wanted to like the show but after the ending I just felt blah. They are definitely setting up for another season but I am not sure I would watch it or not.

I know Frazod doesn't want anything to do with Dune but has anyone watched Dune Prophecy? I actually thought it was pretty good but I also don't follow all the books like everyone else.

I may have already posted about it somewhere here recently but Monarch: Legacy of Monsters was a decent watch if you enjoy the Monsterverse flicks.

yeah, i think it had a thread around here.

I enjoyed it but many didn't. It had some pacing issues here and there, to be sure. And a bit of it was telegraphed, but otherwise I thought it was entertaining and well done.

Yeah, I was wondering why I wasn't enjoying season 2 as much and just realized it's him. He's way too much and is way over the top. He was used perfectly season 1, but holy shit I'm tired of seeing him.

I know a few people exactly like Brian. The conversation with Derek was written perfectly as to how it would go with a former colleague of mine.

Gay or straight, people that act like that deserve a solid dick punch.

Not some sympathetic character arc.

Really enjoyed this show. Frazod would absolutely hate it, because lots of people hate it because Frank Herbert didn't write it. It was his son Brian and Kevin Anderson. Alot of people do not like their works lol.

I thought it was really good. Very brutal. Rough life back then, and everyone was an asshole in one way or another.

And yes, the ending was kind of a turd.

We started watching it this past weekend and are 3 episodes in. It's pretty intense, and so far it's a great show. You guys are making me want to spoiler the ending if it sucks that bad.
