****in Pat never threatened to hold out. Nothing. Never talked about money. He’s finally getting his back scratched without bitching for it. Kid is miles ahead of my age even.

It does not seem like he pushed very hard on anything. Only $10M signing bonus and $140M guaranteed for injury. Could have pushed for a signing bonus well over $50M and injury guarantee closer to $200M.

Mahomes has chosen to chase Bradys 6 over being the highest paid on a loser team.

That was true when he got a $10M signing bonus for his rookie contract in 2017. True again for his $10M signing bonus on the new extension.

Anyone who criticizes this deal is a moron.
Even when Mahomes’s cap hit is $45+, you still have to pay your QB something. A middle of the road QB like Teddy Bridgewater will have a cap hit around $25 mm. So would you rather have Mahomes? Or Bridgewater and Frank Clark (or two pretty average players)? Yes, the deal might cost us A good player. The idea that we can’t form a respectable team around Mahomes is ridiculous though. If we draft well, no one will ever regret this deal.

Chiefs are getting an awesome discount for the next 6 seasons. A fully developed, age 30-35 "prime" version of Mahomes at $45-50M salary is very likely a bargain compared to inferior QBs making similar money in the years 2025-2030. Plus I think there is a pretty good chance the back half of this contract will be torn up and restructured. So it's kind of a silly aspect of this contract to be honest. |

The critics aren’t going to see it for what it is, which is why they are morons. Comparing Mahomes’s hit to that of an average-good QB will tell the story of what we’re actually paying him. That difference is what we’re actually losing, because we have to have a QB. Mahomes will always MORE than make up for that difference.

After signing the first half billion dollar contract, the NFL "experts" are bitching because Mahomes could have gotten more. They never were this butt hurt over Brady being underpaid.

Yep, or when Elway played for the league minimum after Huizenga bought his car dealerships.
