That's one of the worst shots I've ever seen from any pro.

And Simpson is going to struggle to make par on 18.

Furyk fell apart down the stretch - too bad. Would love to see McDowell birdie 18 here...

Furyk is ****ed. Is the playoff in the US a 18 hole?

Feel bad for Furyk... led for most of the last three days and it barely slipped away.

How many times did they set up to take a shot, or a putt, only to back away and look at it again? Seemed like every shot.

That was one of the biggest US Open choke jobs I've ever seen. What a duck hook on 16, then he played 17 and 18 horribly. Sad for Furyk as this might be one of his last real opportunities to get a second major.
McDowell didn't choke at the end, but he made too many mistakes before the end to win. Simpson was leaking oil down the stretch, too, but he made the big chip and putt when he had to. Congrats to him. |

It reminded me a bit of the 2006 Open when Mickelson, Furyk, and Montgomerie choked down the stretch to give Ogilvy the win by a shot. The winning score was also over par in that one.

True, I remember that. He won three of them after that, so at least he learned from the experience and it didn't hurt his legacy.
