That team had the #1 defense...so expecting better results with a weaker roster isn't realistic. He's just not a strong enough QB to carry a team. When you factor in the disparity between coaching staffs...8-8 in the absolute ceiling for this team until they get a franchise QB. Donks defense isn't dominant anymore...

That roster peaked in 2014...then were gifted a Papa Johns trophy in 2015.

If that team finishes in 3rd place...they should consider it a victory.
How abou a tie for 3rd/4th... that's where I have them with the Chargers.

The thing with Keenum and Cousins - I believe most would rank Cousins above Keenum. Shouldn't be a shock that they made the change when both QB contracts were on the table.

I see Keenum as something along the line of an equivalent to Alex Smith and I clearly would rather have Smith. Am I off?

How are we still on this thread? I thought that threads of this size bogged down the server. Several threads with 100000 posts we're locked down and new threads started because they were killing the server a year or 2 ago. This thread has over 27000 posts. Probably the most posts on any thread ever, it's being posted in daily, and yet it still lives.

Yes...Smith is a much better QB. Had KC had the Vikings roster, they might have been a SB team. Alex beat the Eagles last year...Keesum folded hard against them.

If I were a GM, I wouldn't want either. Cousins seems to shit his pants in pressure situations... he doesn't have "it". Kessum's arm strength forces a lot of deep balls up for grabs. His passer ratings is high because he averages less than 7 yard a completion...which means he is a check down QB.

Horseface just pushed mediocrity to the next couple of years. Like I said before, he should have signed Bradford for one year @ $15 mil then groomed Rosen for a year. Flip Lynch for a 7th round pick and essentially dump his $4.5 remaining salary to his new team. Donks would have gained $4 mil from that this season (No Keesum = $3 million). Then you have Rosen on a rookie deal for 4 more years and see if Kelly can be a back-up. That would save you $20 million next season (Chubb's salary=Rosen/no Lynch/Keesum on the books).

I'd be pretty meh about the future of my team if Keesum was the QB. It's like the Cassel years...bad coaches/back-up QB starting in a new system.

When you have the most corrupt franchise in NFL history as your main rival...and it's GM cheated the cap, as a player, to rob KC of a potential SB...there is going to be legitimate hatred. Factor in said GM signed another QB who doped his way to a SB...yeah.
