Great story. I saw Lima at a gas station near Gladstone. I asked him if he was gonna win his next start. And he goes "Of course it's gonna be Lima Time baby" all smiles

I think everyone needed the day off. It looks like our best chance of making the post season is by finishing ahead of the Twins and Mariners.

I hope they can still make the playoffs. Missing at this point would turn what should be viewed as an amazingly successful season and step forward into a major disappointment.
The lineup is just too thin. Losing Pasquantino was such a blow, as well. Having that lefty balance for Witt and Perez (and a guy who could consistently take good ABs behind Witt and simply be productive and not miss opportunities with bad Ks) was so crucial. I still credit Picolo for the work he did to try to patch it up. That injury happened so late there wasn't a lot they could do, but they tried. Make the playoffs. Have some fun there. And give reason for hope/optimism in 2025. The free agent list is pretty lackluster, so finding offensive help isn't going to be easy (unless you can make a Cody Bellinger marriage happen. It would be risky, as you'd be buying into a guy about to enter his age 29 season, who has taken a step back this year and also has some injury concerns). I'd probably try to spend some money on a FA starter (bring back Wacha for sure, and then either re-sign Lorenzen or even try to upgrade from him) and then look at what I could do on the trade market with the surplus SP.
