I doubt that the SKY media relations people are going to spend any time at all coaching this player up on how to answer stupid questions that state the reporter's opinion and invite the player to knock her teammates.

It was a standard question asked very respectfully, and she handled it like shit

All these twats are agitated because they've suddenly found themselves under increased scrutiny... deal with it

It was a standard question. Of course, she kept interrupting the reporter.

Give a normal answer and move on.

She wasn’t snubbed. Arike was, so you can throw this “12 best” out the window. They instead chose a 42 year old over her. It’s not about snubbing. It’s about the stupid stupid decision to not roster a PR dream for a sport that desperately needs it all for a roster spot that will never play meaningful minutes.

This isn’t about inexperience. It wasn’t an issue when Candace Parker, taurasi and Breanna Stewart made the Olympics as a rookie.

And she had 10 points yesterday against the best team in the league where she only played 4 second half minutes due to blowout. Because the team as a whole is really really bad and clark isn’t good enough yet to carry a bad team against a great one. Yeah she’s a rookie playing a hard position with little help and defenses playing her like Jordan. Surprise, she is going to have her share of early struggles

Everybody knows what the issue is. The only who don’t are the tens of fans in the old guard who want to gripe about nobody watching while insisting nothing should change.

I think this is the right decision as the only argument to get her into the team is for monetary gain. You're using her stardom to justify the spot, yes she's good, but she's only been in the league for a month or so, everyone has to earn their way, and that's the way it should be. The only compelling argument is to use her star power to increase the sport, but everyone would know that her presence on the team was for that purpose, and not that she had earned her way. Good on her for showing one side to the media and keeping the monster comments for her coach. She's got a good head on her shoulders.

Yes. But it’s not like the nba where you’re squeezing more money out. In this case money means getting wnba players basic things like private transportation and making more than $70k. That is a very compelling argument and the fact that wnba players would rather be petty versus leaning into that shows how delusional they are.

It’s win win. She’d play a lot of blowout minutes, every player on that roster would have their star power elevated, and she’d get a chance to practice with the best while playing less minutes to get her some needed rest. There is no downside other than snubbing someone else more deserving, even though that snubbed player would also benefit financially from clark growing the game.

I personally get where she's at though, I wouldn't want to be used as a pawn to increase the wages of those around me that hate me for simply being more popular and wealthy at a young age. She owes them nothing, her contract and endorsement deals are set, if they don't want to include her then that's their problem. They made the bed, now they can lie in it. Unfortunately that's the league they've built, that's not friendly to rookies. NFL will have "Welcome to the NFL Rook" moments, but the veterans generally want to help the rookies with finances, decision making, and overall career advice. I'm sure the WNBA has those players too, but they're ruled by the popular cheerleaders, not the governing student body.

Questions in press conferences aren't really designed to get answers - they're designed to get the players to respond.

He knows that the bench probably didn't play a great game and so they needed greater bench contributions to win it. The question is designed to get one of the starters to discuss it.

They're invitations for dialogue - they're not cross examinations.

As far as the question goes - it's fine. It's a reasonable question designed to get a response from a 'star' player that could've offered some sort of dialogue on the subject.

What it got was a pissy little shit fit.

"The bench has been great for us this year; it's hard asking these players to come off the bench and be locked in every night. Some nights they just won't be and after playing a great game last time out, shots just weren't falling tonight. The energy was there and we need them to keep bringing that energy. The shots will fall..."

Done. Supports her teammates, reporter has a quote, the world keeps spinning.

Instead she threw a temper tantrum.
