Is it too early to start thinking about 2024?

I don't want to give up on this current squad, but I think the evidence is clearly there that this isn't a Super Bowl caliber team.

There's plenty of reason for optimism heading into next season.

What kind of cap room are we working with?

What free agent WR's are likely to be available?

Talk about it here.

This team isn't winning the SB. If we played the 9ers right now we'd lose 50-7.

No way. We would show up ready to play against the 49ers, Ravens, etc.

IT doesn't matter, we simply don't have the talent or coaching to withstand good teams.

Our tackles cannot pass block, and our WR's either can't get on the same page with Mahomes or can't catch.

That's been the theme this entire season and hasn't changed.

We won't contend for another title until that gets fixed.

How are we going to beat a team that scores more than 20 points?

We have a lot of problems.
Obviously we need a dependable receiver corps. But today Patrick just wouldn’t throw to open guys. This year has gotten under his skin and into his head.
I think Nagy has to move on, scheme is weak

?

We haven’t lost by more than one score to any of the good teams we’ve played this year

After Hill going I think most people thought last year could be the down year, but it looks like it'll be this one.

The offense is so badly broken it's hard to pinpoint blame beyond "all of it". The playcalling, the WRs, the OL, the coaching, Nagy, Mahomes...Andy? I dunno but it's beyond JUST crappy WRs.

All that said I'm kinda relaxed about it now. It is what it is. Nobody wins them all. If we somehow pull it off it'll be a helluva story. If not, we go again next.

Next offseason is the point we can regroup to bitch and moan if Veach doesn't address the offense and if we keep the same coaches. Because we need a clear review and a lot of investment there.

We’ve also played the Eagles and Bills since then as held both to 20 points or less.

Point being: we’ve played against the Lions, Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, Jaguars and Vikings. All good teams. We either won or only lost by one score in each of those.

Yeah, credit the defense; they've been playing exceptionally well all year.

My math is actually incorrect. However, even if we use the correct number, 20.8 points/Game, I don't think it matters. We aren't winning playoff games against the top echelon of NFL teams scoring 20 points/game. Hell, we couldn't score 20 against a historically bad defense today.

Maybe in the '80s/'90s, but not in 2023. If we played SF tomorrow, they run us out of the building, any building, including Arrowhead.

This team has been about as entertaining to watch as watching paint dry. Haven't felt this less enthused for Chiefs games in YEARS

It's a hard watch.

Very little fun being had by the team or fans.

The Raiders defense now is far from historically bad. Like the Broncos earlier in the year, they’ve made tons of changes that have led to a huge shift in the product on the field.

I don’t think we should have struggled with them like we did but just adding context.

The team and coaches need to keep their eyes on the prize, finishing as good as possible.

Veach and his scouts and staff should have moved on to the draft, cap, and best FA fits. We, as fans, are allowed to be in both places.
