And yet a couple of months ago, you were saying that you really wouldn't want Keenum but it'd be ok for a year while he grooms Mayfield to be the next guy. Now Keenum is great? MmmK

I would still prefer that scenario, but it didn't happen. I don't think Keenum is an elite QB, he's probably a top 10-12 QB if what we saw last year wasn't a fluke. He's right around the Smith/Cousins/Dak/2015 Andy Dalton area.

You mean the guy who threw 22 td's in 15 games last year?

Your idiot GM kept Trevor Semen as his starting QB for 2 years.

He passed on the opportunity to draft the 3rd best guy in this "LOADED 2018 QB class!!!!!111111" all so he could pay $18 million to a meddling game manager without the intelligence or precision of Alex Smith.

I compared John Elway to Carl Peterson earlier in this thread. That's exactly who your GM is. He's Carl. He's Carl in a goddamn horse costume.

He's going to wait for good things to happen to him at the QB position. He's going to wait for a team to spoonfeed him a top starting QB. He's not going to develop his own. He ****ing sucks at doing that.

Hell, the dude TRIED TO TRADE FOR ALEX SMITH AND REPORTEDLY OFFERED MORE THAN WASHINGTON DID.

Your GM is Carl Peterson.

When you're comparing your QB to Alex Smith you've already lost.

Keenum will be a massive upgrade over what we had last year. How many more wins will Denver have if Keenum can replicate his 2017 season?

Broncos QB's last year:
Yards: 3,333
YPA: 6.5
Comp%: 58.7
TD's: 19
INT's: 22
Fumbles 9
QB Rating: 73.0 (31st in the NFL)

Case Keenum in 14 starts last year:
Yards: 3,547
YPA: 7.4
Comp%: 67.6
TD's: 22
INT's: 7
Fumbles 1
QB Rating: 98.3 (7th in the NFL)

Ok, see. That wasn't so hard was it? To admit that what you hoped for didn't happen? See realistic fans see when their team is not going in the right direction and get pissed. Homers see that their team isn't going in the right direction, and then give what if's, such as "if what we saw last year wasn't a fluke." You are a total homer. It's ok to admit when your favorite teams blows ass and then continues to make stupid moves. It's ok to realize and admit, as us chiefs fans did with Pioli, that your GM is clueless and leading a rudderless ship. But no, every move the broncos make is fantastic, and every player could start on every other teams roster. That is the definition of a homer.

If Keenum works out and Rosen/Allen don't pan out Elway and Kubes will look like geniuses. If not...

Well, there's about 16 more yards per game, and 3 TD's spread out over the season. I'd say maybe thats another win?

Then they will look like inept morons. And yet, you still won't say as much. You will make excuses and talk about how their next move is genius. You are a broken homer record going back many years now.

Considering Keesum won't work out you're left with hoping Rosen/Allen don't.

I'd have taken Rosen personally. Chubb is a good prospect, but he's not some transcendent guy who will take over games and change the outcome by himself.

QB's can do that. And when you don't have one, you don't have shit.

Cause the wins are what everyone looks at, not the playmaking ability, the pedestrian stats, or the way this QB's sorry arm strength and lack of playmaking ability will carry over to a bad team.

I'm pretty sure I've seen these before, I just can't remember where.

Awesome post!

BOTH Rosen and Allen have to fail.

AND

Keenum has to be good.

That's the only way your GM doesn't look like a butt****ing moron.

Odds of that occurring: Very slim.

I’m no Alexsexual, but that’s way off base. Smith is far better than Keenum.
