I’m so glad Kansas City doesn’t have media like Cecil Lammey and Mike Klis. Teicher may be horrible but he’s not a raging homer like those clowns.

If the Vikings, even remotely, suspected that Keesum was an ascending player with an upwards trajectory...they would have signed him for $18 million. The fact they were willing to spend $30 million for a slightly above average QB in Cousins says they didn't believe he would get better. This was the team that saw him everyday in practice/meetings. He was vetted...
Vikings are a legit SB contender and that additional $12 million they threw at Cousins could have been used to fortify them for a prolonged run. Bottom line...they didn't like him (as a player). They didn't think he was good enough... Last edited by BlackOp; 05-12-2018 at 12:40 PM.. |

Chiefs, Jaguars among most vulnerable division winners
1) Kansas City Chiefs (AFC West) When Alex Smith (33 interceptions over the past five seasons) was at quarterback, the Chiefs knew he wouldn't turn the ball over. They can't assume the same with second-year pro Patrick Mahomes taking the reins in 2018. Mahomes' future is bright, but I don't think he'll be off-the-charts great immediately -- he's only started one game in the NFL, and you have to expect hiccups when working in a younger, less-experienced player like that. And, of course, former offensive coordinator Matt Nagy -- now coaching the Bears -- will be missed. Kansas City did add some offensive firepower by signing receiver Sammy Watkins, but the real issue here is the defense, which gave up points and yards by the bushel last season. Marcus Peters, Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali are gone, while Justin Houston hasn't reached double digits in sacks since 2014. Signing linebacker Anthony Hitchens was a smart move, and cornerback Kendall Fuller -- who came over in the trade that sent Smith to Washington -- is a good player, but I don't see anyone on the roster who can rush the passer like Houston in his heyday. The key is safety Eric Berry. Will he be fully recovered from the Achilles tear that wiped out his 2017 season? The competition: The Chargers, who finished 9-7 last season, are much improved, especially on defense -- and with veteran kicker Caleb Sturgis on board, I don't think they'll have the kicking problems that effectively kept them from making the playoffs last year. Jon Gruden's Raiders will be better. Denver has a QB in place (Case Keenum) who will help win some games, while the Broncos' defense will get a huge boost from the addition of rookie Bradley Chubb. This collection of teams will make it very difficult for Kansas City to defend its division title. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...vision-winners

Lol Do Broncos fans ever have original takes of their own?
This guy lists Tamba Hali as a loss, like he contributed at all last year. Anybody that thinks losing Tamba and DJ (after signing Hitchens) makes the Chiefs worse is clueless and their opinion can’t be taken seriously. |

I think its fair to say we might be a little ‘vulnerable’ this year, as we’ve had a lot of turnover on defense and will be starting, in essence, a rookie QB all season. I mean, we’ve basically been unbeatable in the division for 3 years now (5-1 in 15, 6-0 in 16, 5-1 in 17), so its simply playing the odds to say KC may take a step back in the division.
Now with that being said, I dont think the Donkos are the team that will take advantage of that vulnerability. If anyone challenges KC, it will be Sandy Eggo. Vegas & Mile High will be battling for basement supremacy. |

That teams trajectory and arrow have been pointing firmly downward for years. It's been a slow dive, but it IS a dive. And when Rivers is finished, that will close the casket for good.

I expect a slow start as the team gels. The NFL did the Chiefs no favors with 3 of the first 4 at home. KC could well be 2-2 after 4. Actually 0-2, then climbing back to .500 after kicking the shit out of the Donks in Pike High week 4. From that point, I expect them to be in contention for the division the rest of the season.

I guess I'm more optimistic than the pundits that dont watch every game.
Smith played like dogshit during that losing streak...those long stretches where the offense went anemic due to Smith playing not to **** up are gone. The scoreless 2nd half of the Titans game doesn't happen if Mahomes was playing. Donk fans/media pundits have four months left to bag on KC/Mahomes. It'll be the last time they do... PMII isn't a rookie...He made Albert Wilson look like an all-pro. That was all I needed to see... |

And just what the **** is that supposed to mean anyway? Sounds like you're still pining for a game-managing, nowhere QB.

I'll tell you what there are no excuses for; idiotic football fans who, like John Gruden, believe that team building philosophies and strategies from 20 to 30 years ago still have ANY relevance in today's NFL, that's what.
