The Chiefs looked like they didn’t even practice on offense this week.

It was clear from the broadcast that connecting on the deep ball was a BIG emphasis in practice this week.

Why that’d be the case with Thuney at LT and Garrett at DE is… worth questioning, to say the least.

The main positive was seeing the defense force a lot of turnovers and hold a pretty explosive Cleveland offense to very few yards and only 7 points. The Defense has had some pretty shaky performances the last 4-5 games. This was a freaking awesome performance by the KC Defense today.

Obviously Mahomes & KC Offense need to perform much better if the team wants to go anywhere in the Playoffs. But we said the same thing last year for 99% of the season, including a super ugly performance on Christmas Day against the Raiders. Hopefully they can flip the switch again in January like they did last season.

Defense immediately better after Williams took over for Naz. That was the fix. PRetty simple. So wild that one corner position really hamstrung the defense for four or five games.

But the fact is, and few want to acknowledge this, we scored 21 points with six turnovers. That's beyond piss poor.

"Few want to acknowledge it." You must not be reading the posts on this forum. Ton of people (including me) complaining about Mahomes and the offense. They were horribly bad. Now you just gotta hope they flip the switch like they did last year. Pretty much all there is to it.

I’m with him.

This team watched Mahomes suffer a high ankle sprain in the 2022 postseason and we lost three games in the month of December alone in 2023.

Won the Super Bowl both years.

I’m over hanging onto these regular season games as if they mean something in the playoffs.

Watching the replay of the injury and Mahomes take a helmet to the face with no flag. Should have been a 15 yard penalty and a 1st down.

Chiefs are really a great overall team that is underachieving on offense. No idea what the reason is but Mahomes isn't playing well consistently. I'm sure they'll figure it out in the post-season.

I will say that the one time that Mahomes and the offense has looked right is when they go no huddle and Mahomes just plays ball. At least that's what my eyes tell me.
I went through the exact same conditioning. “Because Chiefs” was a way of life. And yes, every once in a while that thought creeps back into my mind. But I squash it and throw it away right quick. I was on the 3peat bandwagon last season, even after the back alley abortion that was the Christmas Day loss.

Those decades of “Because Chiefs” is no longer an excuse; if someone doesn’t have control of that conditioning at this point, it’s because they don’t want to - or probably in some cases, in complete control and just being jack ass trolls.

Again, it’s one thing to point out and to discuss obvious issues, it is another to be a herald of doom week after week after week.
