Rumor was right. They found a star with 7 Earth-sized planets. 3 of those are in the Goldilocks zone. The habitable planets are pretty close together. One or more are actually tidally locked. That's cool...

One of them has perfect conditions for water.

As soon as we de-ice the Mass Relay masquerading as Charon, we'll be able to skip most of the heavy lifting in the journey.

Sounds like the gravity effects in the system are pretty whacky. The planets are so close that they pull on each other constantly, making their orbits all wavy and weird. Planets will pull close to each other when they're close in orbit.

Just said they've found thousands of potential exoplanets in the Goldilocks zones of their parent stars. Crazy.

And if they're close enough that their orbits are wacky, I wonder if they'll eventually collide. If you're an intelligent being on one of those planets, that's a strong impetus to develop space travel if you know for sure that a planet is going to hit you at some point.

They're probably pointing a telescope at our own solar system right now, saying "Man, that planet is perfectly in the zone with no other planets around. And it has water and everything. Even a moon. Wish we lived there."

It's actually sad for me to see these things. It's exciting but a buzzkill knowing I'll never get to actually see it or us go there.
