Horseface most certainly had his greasy fingers in that draft... They arent picking up Ray's 5th year option. He essentially spent their 5th overall pick on a money saving replacement.

He becomes ANOTHER 1st round pick, that the swindler traded up for, that wont see a second contract...the only reason Lynch is still there is he costs $4.5 million, this year, if they dump him. That slimeball goes to the media and says "We still believe in Paxton" while signing Keenum to a $36 million contract. He knows they cant afford to dump him and then pay another back-up......

The draft chodes that keep raving about "Elway's great draft"...He had his pick of A+ talent at #5. Anyone could have picked Nelson or Chubb. It's not like his scouting acumen found an unknown gem. The other teams just valued a franchise QB more than an OLB that is better at the run than rushing the QB.

Besides Clowney's stiffness, the knock on them is they get by on their athleticism and don't always play hard. Chubb doesn't have that problem.

He’s also not the athlete that those two guys are.

That’s why the comparison is stupid.

Chris Long is a better comparison.

Comparisons are fun... but at the end of the day, Chubb is a hell of a player and should be a great addition and contributor on defense for years. Yes, there are a half a dozen other paths they could have taken and each would have been equally picked apart. Denver (nor any team) was going to fix all of their concerns in a draft and as I said going in, I don't think I've ever walked away from any draft thinking "Sweet, they did everything I was hoping they would do".. it's part of the process.

Now, bring on the remainder of FA and let's get to training camp.

Glenn Dorsey was a hell of a player and should have been a great addition to the Chiefs for years to come. Didn't stop him from busting. Hopefully Chubb is the Donks Glenn Dorsey.

Donk fans have to ask themselves....was Chubb worth Ray, the 12th/22nd and early 2nd round pick? I'd put my money on 4 players over one. Their roster needed help...

Horseface was either too cheap or couldn't afford 4 new contracts.

Yeah, I'd go with Zierlein's comp too if I was a Chiefs fan. It's certainly less scary than the Bosa (Mayock), Mack (Greg Cossell), Cam Jordan, and Terrell Suggs comps I've seen.

I think Chubb is a more powerful player than Long is, and while Long tested better in the the 3-cone and short shuttle, Chubb looks much lighter on his feet than Long does.

Could be that's just a player they really wanted (believe he was 3rd on their list) and just never imagined him being there.

Too much of a time waste to worry about the 'what ifs'... those other picks could just as easily turn out to be busts. Maybe 1-2 of them pans out - and then Chubb turns into a phenom, would it have been worth it? Nobody knows.

Safe strategy was to make the trade... fill more holes with more bodies at the top of the draft, they chose Chubb. Could be a nice short and long-term play if Ray is indeed on the way out, which appears to be the case without picking up the 5th year option. It happens.

Time to focus on the season and what this team can do... (wait for it) ... we'll see.

Saw this posted by a Vikings fan...

"I think this year will show people that Keenum's year last year was a fluke and won't be repeated again by him. Theilen, Diggs and Rudolph bailed him out a lot last year and while the offensive line wasn't great it is better than people give it credit for. Keenum almost gave away the game twice this season with 2 horrible interceptions in each game up by 14, the first game against the Redskins out defense bailed us out, the second game was against the Saints in the playoffs. Keenum choked the lead with 2 horrible interceptions and the only way we won is on a miracle of a catch that probably shouldn't have happened. Keenum was not great this last year and he only looked better because of his supporting cast, I think we are looking at another Ryan Fitzpatrick here who has a great year and signs a good contract only to play like crap through it and make the management regret everything. I appreciate everything Keenum did for the Vikings last year but I'm tired of the same BS that Keenum looked great last year."

I don’t think Suggs is a bad comparison at all either.

But @ Bosa or Mack

If you expect him to be that dynamic of a pass rusher you will be dissapointed.
