The Pioli Watch Thread

I'm hijacking the thread starter to use for an "updates" area. Sorry cardken. Here are a few recent updates:

Pioli would find a warm welcome in Kansas City. At the last Chiefs' home game, shortly after the embattled Carl Peterson resigned after 20 years as president, general manager and CEO, several signs were spotted in the crowd proclaiming, "We want Pioli." BREAKING NEWS

Okay gang, as many of you know I still have friends at the highest level in the Chiefs organization and have this info to share with full confidence: Scott Pioli is the new GM. His announcement will come Thursday or Friday at the latest. Clark and Scott are working out the finer points of his contract tonight (money & control), but the deal is sealed. Also, Clark informed Herm Edwards and his coaching staff that they will be released. All assistants can reapply through Scott.

I only share this information because I'm no longer with the team and it's fun to share that a new day is dawning at Arrowhead. Scott Pioli will quickly move to clean out the front office and hire a new coach.

The only info I whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said "FRESH" and had a dice on the mirror! If anything, I could say that this cab was rare, but I said "Naw, forget it. Yo home, to Bel-Air!"

I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie "Yo homes, smell ya later!" I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there. To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air.

Mike Shanahan has contacted Pioli, but I don't know any info beyond that.

Lanier63 of Arrowhead Pride reports

Lanier63 is a well-respected poster on Arrowhead Pride.

Here's what he had to say:

Quote:

Since I started all this with my letter to Clark on Dec. 15th titled "Ok Clark", published exclusively on Arrowhead Pride, I thought I would take a few minutes and share with you what's going on with the GM search. We all know what happened on Dec. 20th.

Clark has indeed interviewed Pioli twice and they have come to an agreement both sides are happy with. Scott is taking this weekend to wrap things up around home and Clark is going to announce on Monday the aquisition of what we hope will be our next winning GM.

Clark has indeed been talking with others about the job doing his due dilligence in the matter. But, he has taken the extra step of a professional in also contacting those involved by not letting them hang in the balance and telling them they will not be hired. Although he would have the attention of most of the NFL football world by making an announcement this weekend, Clark will wait until Monday to make it an all Chiefs day. What we need to do as Chief fans now is, enjoy the weekend and the playoffs, continue to hope and pray the Cheifs can make the right decisions to once again become an elite team and continue our dialogues on AP concerning Chief matters.

If I am wrong, you will have lost nothing but time and we'll all have a good laugh. IF I am right however...

Interesting read. But I have a question:

Does anyone actually pray that the Chiefs make correct decisions? Is it really THAT important?

I don't see any argument here.

What's the difference between what this guy posted and if I made up some shit right now? Some might say that DeezNutz is a "respected" poster at CP...

I was getting a haircut earlier and the lady said that her sister's boyfriend's uncle's astrologist believes that stars are in the proper alignment for Pioli signing. She then confirmed this through an intense reading of the diaper offal that her infant slung onto the living room wall.

Hey, it's a source.

Here's the sequence that I am referring to.

1. It was reported that Pioli was happy about the opportunity in KC
2. It was also reported that he was offered a contract
3. A few days ago Schefter reported that Pioli was in New England.
4. Lombardi reported yesterday that he heard KC was turning down GM candidates

Thus, it's not unreasonable to hypothesize that:

1. Both sides have reached an agreement
2. Pioli is in NE "wrapping things up" at home
3. The announcement is being delayed because of the playoffs
