Any Bourbon drinkers out there?

I've heard some good things about Buffalo Trace Bourbon.
http://www.buffalotrace.com/

Can't get it up here north of the border but, through a wine distributer I am able to order a case. Would like to hear from someone who knows their stuff and has tried it before I order.

Thanks

It’s barely a rye at just 51% but I really enjoy it as E.C. Small batch is easily one of my favorite bourbons

I'll put this here instead of bumping the SB thread, but I can now 2nd this, highly recommended along with this bloody mary mix! Elijah Craig, mix, spicy V8, and some bacon salt.

I’ve been a bit underwhelmed by Bulleit over the years, but came across their barrel proof and thought I’d give it a try. It’s thin, which makes me think it’s young (haven’t done my homework on it coop), but the taste is very nice. Price at Hy-Vee was only $55.

Just bought a bottle of Wathen's single barrel on a friend's recommendation. After careful consideration, I have chosen to ghost this friend and take all of my dog's stored refuse and dump it on his front doorstep. Why anyone would recommend that bourbon is beyond me.

Legent
Maker's Private Barrel Select
Oregon Spirit Wheated Whiskey
Peerless Single Barrel

Russells
Savage & Cooke, Della Grand
Smooth Ambler Old Scout

I have the Elijah Craig and Peerless, too. I’m a bit of a collector, so my list is a bit long. I recently picked up the Larceny BP after hearing a lot of folks give it some run, but truthfully it didn’t wow me. How is the Bulleit 10? It was next to the Bulleit BP that I picked up. I tend to like higher proofs, so I went with the BP over the 10.

I’ll probably get shredded for this, but one thing I see missing from your list is 4 Roses. A lot of people don’t like it, but it’s my go-to for every day cocktail mixer.

I'll slowly build up a stock of bourbon this year with the Flaviar subscription, but probably nothing amazing... the first bottle was Heaven's Door, Bob Dylan's bourbon. ....also bought some more Elijah Craig and then a bottle of Devil's River coffee bourbon.

Also had a tasting box and the best of the 3 was a Widow Jane 10 year from New York. As a bourbon n00b, it's a great way to get into it.

They 'opened their vault' the other day, where they have a $500 of Weller full proof and sold a $3600 bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 20 year, and $4300 for the same 23yo, and the list goes on...... I thought about flipping one of several in the ~$500 range, but they all seemed to be the going rates with no special discount at all.

I like Bulleit 10 as an every day sipper. It's got some caramel flavors up front that I like, but it is a bit thin. I'm a higher proof guy as well, but I tend to have a mix on my shelves. Can't drink as much with the HP bourbons.

Thanks for the response...yeah, I really like OF 1920, but don't always stock it. How's the West Bottoms? I like your HW selection...good stuff.

Thanks...I see 4R single barrel recommended a lot. I've tried most of their offerings, but not single barrel for some reason. Thanks for the recs!

My favorites right now are Weller Special Reserve, Eagle Rare, and OF 1910.

If you are looking for a really good rye I recommend Pikesville.
