Any Bourbon drinkers out there?
I've heard some good things about Buffalo Trace Bourbon.
http://www.buffalotrace.com/ Can't get it up here north of the border but, through a wine distributer I am able to order a case. Would like to hear from someone who knows their stuff and has tried it before I order. Thanks |

I was gifted a Flaviar subscription... will receive a few mini bottles and then can purchase a bottle of my favorite (included in the subscription). Repeat quarterly.
Seems like a cool way to try some bourbon while building up the home selection. |

4Roses Barrel Proof OESK - This was a store pick and I wish I would have bought a case of it. It’s gone now J.Mattingly 2020 Tonic - Another store pick. Not sure where they sourced the whiskey from but it’s damn good J.Mattingly 2020 Tonic Rye - Same as above Bulleit Single Barrel - Another store pick. It’s ok although I think I prefer the 10yr. Willet 4 year Rye - Have tried this a few times but this is my first bottle. It’s good Bakers - Stumbled across one still wearing the old label

OESK and OBSK are my favorite Four Roses recipes. I've never had a bad batch of either from store picks.

Wife got me a bottle of WhistlePig 12 year rye for Christmas. For my birthday a few weeks earlier, she got me a bottle of Ardbeg Scotch, 1792 Cask strength, and a bourbon from Oregon, can't remember the name and don't feel like going downstairs to the liquor cabinet, but it was surprisingly good.
God, I love her so much...

Has anyone messed with with of those mini whisky barrels? I got one for Father’s Day and my first batch actually turned out pretty dang good. But I made the mistake of letting it sit empty. Last night I put some hot water in it and it leaked like crazy. I refilled it and was surprised how fast it swelled and barely leaked. This morning I checked it and it was fully sealed and pretty full still.
Now my question, do I need to worry about bacteria or mold Or anything after it sat empty? I was just about to fill it but I decided to put the sanitation mixture with boiling water in it just in case. Although I was looking forward to using the flavor from the last batch.

Red breast 12 is 50 a bottle
https://www.totalwine.com/spirits/ir...key/p/97340750 Unless you were talking about the Yellow Spot, if so, I liked it but felt it wasn't worth the price. |

What’s the best bang for your buck bourbon? Not as cheap as $15 but not $100 either.
Edit- for someone who drinks it as an old fashioned or just on the rocks.

I really like Jim Beam Black Label in my old fashioneds. I’d go with 4roses single barrel or Russell’s reserve 10yr for an affordable, easy to find sipper
