lol, this reminds me of this night I went to a Mizzou basketball game at Kemper with my cousins, there were a shit load of these mascots wandering around with a bunch of promotional gimmick bullshit like Wonderbread etc. My cousin leans and whispers in my ear "They are really FBI Agents."

And I pray that there is a moment in this show where Christopher Guest tells someone that he hates them and he hates their ass face.

Watched Grave of the Fireflies this weekend for the first time. It was a beautiful film, like most Studio Ghilbi films, but definitely not a cheery movie. My Neighbor Totoro it was not.

Finally caught Star Trek Beyond at the theater this weekend. Wow. I didn't think it could be worse than STD. Boy was I wrong. Absolute pile of shit. The stupid hologram, clone, transporter, people carrier toy of Jala was almost as bad as the magical raise the dead blood from STD. The motorcycle scenes were idiotic, the CGI'd fight scenes were jarring, the beginning scenes were so dark as to be unwatchable, and the humor was uninspired and bland. Ugh.

Phantasm: Ravager (2016)
Phantasm: Ravager isn't great, but in a way, its...um...not greatness and its confusing ending are kind of appropriate for the series. Very weak special effects fwiw. Essential viewing for fans of the series. Skippable for everyone else. Also watched: The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll (1960) Scarecrows (1988) The Monster of Piedras Blancas (1959) I vampiri (1957) Shark Exorcist 2015 The Dead Pit 1989 Lies 1985 Hercules, Samson & Ulysses 1963 The Borrower1991 Hell Night (1981) The Initiation 1984 And last, but not least, the slasher classic "Silent Night, Deadly Night" |

Caught the Big Short on Netflix. Very well acted.
I'd need to do some research on truthiness, but the business side seems oversold. That's just me being a nerd. Watch the movie. It's well done. |

https://www.amazon.com/Big-Short-Ins.../dp/0393338827 Books has way more information and infuriating, but educational. I highly recommend it. The movie adds the humor and dramatized it but there isn't much factually off in the events or timeline.

Watched "Everybody Wants Some" the other night, pretty good flick. It's pretty much "Dazed and Confused" of the modern day.

I thought Split was enjoyable but generally only because of McAvoy's performance.
Spoiler!
It's worth a watch though. |
