It was stupid for him to play. They should have just paid the bonus but probably wasn't in the cards after him sitting out the first game with his contract dispute.

Use the 500K in bargaining power for another year contract. They need to get one of DHop or Hollywood to come back next year and offering that on top of a contract without having to play might move the needle.

Receiver position is cursed this year. Last thing I want to see are the starters out there running routes in a meaningless game for a backup QB. That's just asking for injury and darkness and a re-activated Skyy Moore in the playoffs.

That's my thought as well. I know it isn't my money, so this is easy to say, but pay him the $1M and let him rest. Best of both worlds. If he contributes to a SB win, they will make that money back easily.

Just pay the 500k to have more snaps available in the playoffs and keep the higher pick in the trade option is worth it. Not to mention just having a rested and ready hopkins for the super bowl. 500k for another trophy in dads case?

The Chiefs letting Jones get his bonus is something a lot of players consider player friendly, some teams go out of their way to not pay incentives so them allowing him to get it is good will.
