I like Moore’s quickness in routes. He has the lateral agility to create separation and that’s what we need. He creates more space than the other wrs in this range. I like the pick. Great value and skyy is a fit. Guys like pickens and Tolbert are not a fit for what we need. The chiefs don’t prefer guys who can’t create separation in breaks or route running. He also has huge hands and catches the ball well. Too many of our wrs have tipped passes up that have been picked and moores reliable hands should help prevent that.

So, I was sleeping on this guy.

I mean, not literally.

But you know, like over the winter, as I was looking at mocks, and comparing measurables and stuff.

And I saw 4.4 at 5'9" or 5'10" or whatever and you know, after having a couple of guys that size that run 4.2-somethings that just doesn't stand out.

and his tape is full of him just clowning like...Eastern Uganda State Technical College or whatever.

BUT-when you look at the 10 yard splits...that is ELITE quickness. And part of why he's clowning these guys is because he does run a tidy route. And he's very sudden.

someone back several posts had some testing comps with Antonio Brown, and I think that is a good goal for Moore-minus all the rapey shit. Oh, and the nutbag shit, too.

I was thinking bigger, fast, physical guys; guys that will take over for Juju in '23 as he will almost certainly be taking a big payday elsewhere.

But this'll do. This'll do just fine.

He will run the right route, and be extremely detail oriented in his approach to route running.

He will get separation from defenders

He will catch the passes thrown to him

He will break tackles with the ball in his hands

Mahomes will trust him almost immediately and go to him often after about mid season.

You're acting like he doesn't belong in the league because he played at Western Michigan. That's silly. I guess someone should tell the Saints Trevor Penning is going to suck ass and shouldn't have been the 19th overall pick because he played in the same conference.

And that some of the best WRs over the last decade played against simular opponents. Antonio Brown, Adams come to mind. Hell, Tyreek played against a bunch of trash cans.

I think this is right. Ceiling probably isn't Brown but it's a damn good player, and I honestly think the floor is a good, cheap slot to replace Juju next year. There's value in that, maybe not at 30, but definitely at that pick. Obviously he could bust and be a Powell type but I think it highly unlikely.

I feel like I was on the bandwagon for him early when he was a R2 or R3 guy, and a little less pumped taking him in the first. Does he have the ceiling of Pickens? No. And maybe we'll regret not staying put, Steelers seem to know their WRs. But I reckon we'll be happy with what we've got.

In 2021 NFL scouts began to take notice and in 14 games he dominated with 94 receptions for 1291 yds and 10 TDs, with only 4 drops on 125 total targets. This was the third-best in the country in receptions per game at the FBS level. Moore was once again given a spot on the All-MAC first-team.


SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS

Has incredible top speed with rare suddenness and lightning footwork to create in tight areas with elusive shiftiness and change-of-direction skills.

Has the strong soft hands any NFL wide receiver coach and quarterback would covet - has only 7 drops his entire college career

Recruited as corner which gives him a unique feel for the game
Has good body strength to squirm out of tackles with the coordination to maneuver his frame between defenders.

A excellent route runner - who obviously is a student of the game
Fluid athlete with explosive burst and speed to stretch the field and breeze past defenders. Has a quick first step and gets to top speed in a hurry.

Is surprisingly difficult to bring down and difficult to tackle for smaller corners
Is fearless over the middle and effortlessly splits cover 2 zone schemes deep
Moore possesses great hands and elite top-end speed he has torn through defenses at the FBS level up

An impressive athlete with very quick acceleration to reach his top speed quickly and stretch the field. Very good body control and smooth movements. Plays fast and explosive.
Fits a zone system, can sift through oncoming traffic and explode through tiny creases and cutback lanes. Elite, darting stop-and-go acceleration. Dangerous in the open field.

Tracks the deep ball over either shoulder and brings in passes fluidly without breaking stride downfield.

Has a knack for getting open and is a quarterback's best friend - passers just need to toss the ball in his area and he'll come down with it. Has a total QB rating when targetted of 116.2 throughout his college career


SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES

Moore is a little undersized to play outside at the next level and may be limited to a slot role
Does not always use his hands to secure deep throws, allowing the ball into his pads and chest.

Hasn't faced as much top-level competition as you would hope - which makes him somewhat of a question mark
Offers little in the running game as a blocker


SCOUTING REPORT: SUMMARY

Skyy Moore has gone under the radar of NFL scouts for the most part of his college career, but this is changing. He has elite top speed (ran 4.41) at the combine, fantastic agility, and acceleration combined with consistent natural soft hands. He, however, hasn't been tested by a lot of top-level talent and so his likely production remains far from certain, he also doesn't have ideal size for the position.

Currently, we expect Moore to be a likely second-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft - and has both the talent and athletic ability to make a serious impact in the pros as a deep threat.
