Good lord... these people are ridiculous. "OMG, they just killed Admiral Achbar... just like that! Kathleen Kennedy hates me! Ahhhhhhh!"
As if Star Wars is completely removed from the actual realities of war in which anyone can die suddenly and without fanfare at any time. These movies actually feel a little more realistic - a bit game of thrones-ish in that anything is possible. All of these dudes want to see the same ol' heroes in the exact same way they were when we last saw them decades ago. In fact, if there was one thing I was worried about when Disney took this over, was that they would be unwilling to "go dark" and everything would be about the princesses dress and crown. That is not at all the case. Disney has taken the gloves off. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Awesome. Didn't think about that. I like it in here, where I don't hate everything you have to say Clay. (meant in the nicest possible way). Merry Christmas dude.

"Besides, as Johnson explains, the movie would’ve been bad if it had just rattled off confirmation for everyone’s favorite theories and followed the exact plot people expected it to, and he would have had people whining at him on Twitter anyway." I agree whole-heartedly.

while I didn't care for this film, the online outrage is pretty ridiculous/pathetic. Rian Johnson is still cool as hell in my book as a director and seems like a really nice guy. Sucks that he's getting so much hate sent his way on Twitter. |

"Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, he (Rian) said: “For me, it was a dramatic choice. It was just that her hearing – and also for the audience hearing that… if the answer had been, that’s presented in this movie at least, in this context. “If the answer presented to her was, ‘Your parents are so-and-so, here you go, here’s your place in this story.’ That would be the easiest thing for her to hear. And easiest thing for us to hear! Wish fulfilment. “It’s like, ‘Oh, great! That’s who I am. That’s that.’ The hardest thing she could hear is, ‘No, you’re not going to get that answer, that definition.’ “In fact, the fact that you don’t have that is going to be used against you by Kylo, to try and make you lean on him.” I loved this reveal. I may have been the only one. It was the very last thing I expected and he is absolutely right. It was devastating for her right at a moment when she really needed to be strong. I hope that JJ, doesn't spin it about, but it's his to make. One thing, I believe I remember her coming to the realization on her own, just a moment before Ren tells her. Is that right? She finally senses that she came from very humble beginnings. I can't remember exactly what she said... but I think she felt it on her own. If so, that would make it a bit more difficult for JJ to back off of it. If it's just a lie from Kylo, then easy.... "Kylo lied to you, you're Chewie's daughter!" But if she realized it herself, hard to believe she'd be lying to herself on that one. And we are right back to analyzing this all over again! Awesome. Plenty to chew on until Solo comes out ("Did you just call me Solo?")

He'd have received that hate regardless of the decisions he made in this movie. It's the absolute worst part of "the internet". People are so vitriolic behind a keyboard.

I don't know... imagine his temper fit if he found out you were the one who tweeted his rather embarrassing fight with a hologram. I think I'd keep my mouth shut.

Good lord, the more I read of these, the more annoyed I am at what appears to be just another product of our ever growing "entitlement class". "This is wasn't the fans wanted... this isn't what fans theorized about, blah blah blah." Maybe Disney will come out with movies where can fans can pick each part of the scene and move forward step by step so they can tailor their safe universe exactly to their specifications. Snoke has Rey's lightsaber resting loosely on the armrest of his thrown, exactly as Palpatine did.... Choose what happen's next! - Snoke convinces Ren to kill Rey and secure his place firmly in the darkside! or... - Rey breaks the hold Snoke has on her, force grabs Ren's lightsaber and kills him, firmly securing her place in the light! or... - Ren remotely uses Rey's lightsaber to kill snoke, in order to take his place and try to bring Rey into the darkness with him! This is what the soft-heads of the world need now. "I want a porg now daddy, now! now! now!"

“It seemed to me it would be a really emotionally impactful thing to see her use it.” He added: “I liked the idea it would be an instinctual thing. This would be more like stories you hear about parents of toddlers who get caught under cars and they get Hulk strength and lift the car up. “It would be something in these final moments to show that she’s not done with the fight. And like a drowning person pulling herself back, that’s how it manifests itself for the first time in her.” He added that Fisher, who sadly died late last year, was “excited” to shoot the scene, one of many emotionally shattering moments with her character in the movie." "Ohmygurd! I feel so shit upon by Disney! Arrrg." /True Fan Theories
