Are there any renderings of this? It sounds like it'd be better received than the last ordeal.

I do think this is a pretty nice location. Washington Park has some sentimental attachment for me. When The Engineering firm I worked for was located on the Plaza and later 29th and Main I would meet my eldest Sis who worked at Hallmark in the the Arts Department. I'd bring a burger and Fries from Winsteads and sometimes Checkers. We would sit under a nice shade tree near Old George and have lunch. We did a lot of work for the Halls on the expansions at Hallmark Cards and the layout of skywalks around Crown Center. My sis is no longer with us but I often think of those times when we were younger and healthy.

Just checked another site talking about the potential Washington Park site, and like clockwork, it is roundly getting dunked on for all the same lame ass reasons.
Parking! Gridlock! Taxes! Gentrification! Homeless! Crime! George Washington! Billionaires! Kauffman is great! Seriously, these ****s need to get laid in the worst way... |

Pushing back on a bad plan with unnecessary demolition yielded a better plan. It's okay to demand better. We're no longer desperate for whatever we can get in KC.

Better location I will give you but we haven't seen a plan yet. Stick to better prices for Route 44 refills and slurpy machines that are always ready buttercup.

Jackson County votes to put Chiefs only sales tax question on November ballot
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County voters moved a step closer to seeing a Chiefs only sale tax on the November ballot. But the question voters see on the ballot would be different than the proposal that lost in April. Unlike the last vote with a deal in place and commitments from the Royals and Chiefs to stay if voters approved the tax, now they are admitting this is little more of a Hail Mary, but say as they try to compete with Kansas and the state’s star bonds package they are doing everything they can to try to stay competitive. In the latest plan, the Chiefs would have their own tax. For both teams it was 3/8 cent sales tax. Now it would be a quarter percent, so slightly less. This goes for 20 years, instead of 40. But there was discussion by those voting no, saying neither the Chiefs nor Jackson County’s Sports Authority are in favor of this. [...]

The state of Missouri needs to step-up and help JACO, if they don't they Chiefs will move because the Kansas offer, as an entire state, is far better than anything one Missouri county could possibly put together.

Do you see the plan for the rest of your tax dollars or do you just pay the shit? Vote yes! The teams are the heart of the city. You don't want to pay then move to Omaha or Little Rock where they don't have shit. Keep your tiny 100 bucks a year and **** off.

Welp...
Jackson County lawmakers reject Chiefs-only sales tax measure aimed at saving stadium talks It’s back to square one for the Jackson County Legislature as it tries to figure out how to keep the Chiefs from leaving Kansas City. In a 5-4 vote, the legislature rejected a proposal to place a Chiefs-only sales tax measure on the November ballot. The quarter-cent tax would go into effect in October 2031 — after the current 3/8th-cent sales tax ends. This tax would fund improvements for Arrowhead Stadium and the Truman Sports Complex and would not include Kauffman Stadium. It was a compromise that 1st District Legislator Manny Abarca IV, who sponsored the measure, hoped would ease voters’ concerns about funding a new Royals ballpark. [...]
