Well boys I said what the hell and bit the bullet and ordered the ipilot system conversion kit for my trolling motor, I am tired of my bad foot pedal skills and all the wind we have here. I also like the fact that when I get on the fish I will be able to stay on them.

Got the ipilot and the new garmin installed
That ipilot is the best thing you could ever put on a boat, went fishing today, the wind was rocking as usual and the ipilot just held me on the spot... fished 5 hours and had 80% battery left and I only run 1 interstate batter for the trolling motor |

My fishing season is quickly coming to an end, its looking like we're gonna pretty much skip fall and go straight into winter AGAIN... but its supposed to warm up to around 60 tomorrow, so I might try to get out again
Spotted a beautiful little creek on the way to a new worksite this week, I'll probably try that... gotsta keep myself interested by finding new spots, get so bored with the same old places Love smallish creeks that most people look right past when looking to go fishing, there are true lunkers lurking in those little creeks... and you wont have to fight the crowds, or wade through all their damn trash |

A buddy is taking me to Smithville bass fishin in the am tomorrow. He knows his shit. He’s an old tournament guy. See how it goes. I’m more of a crappie, catfish, walleye, trout guy but it’s always fun to tie into a few bass up there. He said to plan for back of cove senkos and secondary pont medium running shad cranks. I’m all packed up. See how it goes

You will love the ipilot. Mine has it built in on my trout boat, I can control the motor from anywhere in the boat. I also launch my boat with no one in it, and once its clear of the trailer, I stand there on the ramp and bring it back in. You can also set it up to follow ledges and structure, then go back to fishing while it does the driving. I use a hand controlled with stomp box on my bass boat, but I am always right there to control it, but the trout boat, I am always running the outboard and never on the front deck so anything other than an ipilot wouldn't work for me on that boat. |
