I was born in the very early 80’s. A timeless design is a timeless design.

Hi, my name is Jamie and I’m addicted to handguns.
No, I didn’t break down and buy the SA 1911. I didn’t even see that at the two places I stopped. I did go with a Springfield though. I... I went... striker fired, which I typically do not like because of the ridiculous trigger pull inherent in a DAO firearm. Just dry firing, the trigger on the XDm actually seemed decent though. And I’ve read Powder River makes a trigger for the XD series that is like 2.5 lbs. I’ll be looking into that in the future. Anyway, I’ve been wanting another 10mm (have I mentioned I’ve become obsessed with this round?) and I already have two in the 1911 platform. I went with the 4.5” barrel model as opposed to 5.25”. I’ll post a picture after I get home later. In the mean time, pray for my addict soul.

So I went with a Girsan (Turkish) 1911 Commander for my first. I'm waiting for Springfield to get some "Defenders" in stock and I'll pop for one of those. I bought the Girsan and I hate the magazines already. I haven't fired it yet but I'm getting a failure to feed with a fully loaded Mag on the first round. I think the magazine is of such poor quality that the spring isn't strong enough to get the first (or last depending on how you look at it) round seated correctly. I have heard great things about Wilson Combat magazines.....any other suggestions for good magazines? |

Also, just curious on opinions...I traded a safe queen pistol I had for a Springfield XDM a few years back, While I don't hate the pistol, I don't adore it either....was thinking about trading it in....maybe a Glock 20 or 21? Thoughts?
