Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Thank ****ing God we didn't do this "wait for 2018 " bullshit:

Quote:
Four players—Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen and Mason Rudolph—will all get serious Round 1 talk as the college season starts back up. Each has talent and at least one big question mark that could crash his potential.

Allen is a big kid with a rocket arm and great athleticism, but he's wild with the ball and lives outside the pocket. Think of him as a bigger Patrick Mahomes. Darnold has only started nine games at USC, and while he was a great leader for the Trojans, he has a long throwing motion that few in the NFL have ever succeeded with. Rosen is the biggest name of the group, but he missed most of 2016 with a throwing shoulder injury and is already being labeled as a red flag from scouts who've gone through UCLA, due to his outspoken ways. Rudolph has the size and numbers, but was given a Day 3 grade from scouts I spoke to during the 2016 season. Once teams dig in on him, will the hype die?
Quote:
—Lamar Jackson took home the Heisman Trophy last season, but already NFL teams are starting to find cracks in the game of the Louisville quarterback. On this week's Stick to Football podcast, co-host Connor Rogers shared a note from a scout he spoke to that said Jackson "isn't an NFL quarterback." Jackson's size is an automatic issue when looking at the tape, but I'm waiting until there's more time to study him before making a decision on where he'll play in the NFL.

This is random...we were talking about Bray a day or so ago. Funny thing about Bray is that he and Alex seem like total opposites of each other, yet it appears that they are actually pretty close friends...I'm guessing Alex's best friend on the team. They are always spotted joking, talking and laughing with each other on the sidelines or during training camp or whatever and it looks like legit friend type of interacting. And some photos of them hanging out outside of football have been posted on multiple occasions... I remember Alex's wife posting a picture of Alex and Bray before going out with the caption, "aren't these two guys just the cutest ever?!?!" Haha, I've always thought those two were such an odd pair, but I think they really are good friends.

The 2018 class is only better and more hyped because they have a bunch of guys with the top notch potential/upside that Mahomes has.

My whole deal with drafting a QB early (especially after trading way up), is if you are gonna do it at least take a guy who has the potential to be elite, top 5. The Chiefs did that. Hard to complain at all IMO.

He highlights that he is the only QB who has elite potential in the class, and that scouts among him believed his 'whiteboard' ability and passion/mentality is what separates him.

First 10-12 minutes are about Mahomes, rest is the other draft picks for KC.

I've seen mock drafts with those guys in the first 4 picks. Every team needing a QB will be picking in the top 10 probably & none will be trading.

I think the year before Matt Barkley came out, he was being mocked as the first overall pick in some preseason mocks. It's inevitable that some of these guys will end up not being first rounders, and that some guys we haven't even heard of yet comes out of nowhere (IE Trubisky)...

Yep, those were the "Blow for Barkley" days.

I still think that guy has potential.

So glad the Chiefs finally broke this chickenshit cycle. If you always wait til next year on QBs for guys who are better value/less flawed, you never grab your actual guy.
