Let's talk about the Miami Dolphins

Here is my $500,000 question on this game.

Will Spags and Co play it straight and keep their powder dry for the playoffs?

Last season the Chiefs defense (and maybe Andy, don't recall) kept things very vanilla when they went to Cincy.

They lost that battle, but won the war, because the defensive wrinkles Spags wanted to use against the Bengals were unveiled in the AFC Championship and held their offense at bay just enough for gimpy Mahomes to drag us over the finish line late.

Will Spags come into this game guns blazing and try to take out the Dolphins early this season? OR will he keep his cards hidden for the real season?

Every year we have a horrendous performance against a far inferior team. Yet we still get to the AFCCG every year, at Arrowhead.

This is true,

I wish it wasn't. But Miami does give me heart burn. However, they have sucked vs anyone with a decent defense. WE SHALL KNOW BY DAWN

Miami's offense vs playoff teams last two seasons

W 42-38
W 21-19
L 15-27
L 17-33
L 17-23
L 29-32
L 20-48
L 17-31

22.25 PPG

And 7 of that came on a pick six vs the Eagles, so knock it down to 21.3 PPG

If the Chiefs play their game they win this game easily.

The 42-point performance before anyone had much film on them is clearly an outlier too, so it's more like 18.4 PPG.

Every other team does it, too, or else the Chiefs wouldn't be hosting the AFCCG... and on one hand, the Broncos are especially terrible compared to other division rivals, but overall I'd say playing a division rival twice in a few weeks lessens the effect.

The Bengals have the Browns, Bills have close games to the Dolphins and have lost to Zach Wilson, the Brady Patriots had issues in Miami many times. There's a reason 16 in a row is so damn impressive, even if we didn't expect it would break this year.

Granted, the better teams can still **** around a good amount and still pull wins out of their ass against everyone else, it's not CFB.

With injuries at LB, we have some serious issues going into this game.
The offense has been mediocre to poor, so we have had to rely on a stout defense. With the second level decimated by injuries, we will likely struggle against the run. Miami will take advantage of that. They will run, run, run, then play action for big plays.

Can the offense get their shit together? We will need it if we hope to win this game.

Dolphins score 24 at the most.

Bolton would make a big difference this game. We can't stop their run AND their pass. If Bolton was here we could focus on the pass and he'd handle the run.

Unless the offense ****s itself again. Gave the Broncos excellent field position on every scoring drive. All were in Chiefs territory

The Chiefs have an elite defense.

In their last 8 games against playoff teams the Dolphins are 1-7 and averaging 21 PPG.

The Chiefs are 10-2 against playoff teams in the same time span.

Have some ****ing confidence in your ****ing football team.

Everything you're saying is true. But that defense is gonna miss Bolton abd Gay. And our offense is way out of sync. Just think we're going into one of those WTF funks before the Reidian Run.
