****Official 2010 ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft Thread****

Welcome to the 2010 ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft.

We have some new owners this year, so here's a quick run-down on the rules.

Each team will have 24 hours from the timestamp of the previous pick to make their selection. If your pick is not made within 24 hours, the next owner is free to make their selection.

The draft order is now final, with the exception of possible compensatory picks. As in past years, if the NFL announces an official list of compensatory picks BEFORE we finish the 3rd round, I'll add them in. If not, the draft order currently listed will remain. Any trades made in real life will NOT change the mock order from this moment on - personally, it's just too much work, and you run the risk of a pick being traded in real life after it's been made here in the mock.

If you think there is any chance you'll miss your pick, please try to send me a PM with a prioritized list of players - I'll select the highest priority player available from your list to keep things moving.

Please try to check in at least once a day, if not several times daily. We've never had an issue finishing 7 rounds in 6 weeks and I don't expect to have a problem this year - but it's up to you guys as owners to stay current.

When making your selection, please post the name, position and school of the player (follow Hamas' lead, he knows the drill - the correct format helps greatly when updating the header) and give a quick blurb about why you selected that particular player. Doesn't have to be a novel.

I'll be in class from 11:00 - 2:00, but I'll log back in to put Hamas on the clock at Noon.

Have fun fellas.

The San Francisco 49ers select Joe Haden, CB, University of Florida.

C.J. Spiller - Gone
Taylor Mays - Gone

Haden's 40 time was blown WAY out of proportion at the combine. The dude is a shutdown corner and instantly starts for the 49ers defense. Nate Clements is old and isn't worth his contract anymore. Haden can come in and start opposite of Shawntae Spencer.

Good pick, BTW.
I'd prefer it if he Mo Lewises Drew Bledsoe (whose part will be played by Matt Cassel). That way at least we get a decent QB out of the deal.

We were gifted McCoy, I guess I couldn't expect 2 slam dunk picks in the first round. Haden's 40 time is a product of nerves and a terrible stance. He'll be fine. I'm jealous he didn't drop one more spot because while I hadn't envisioned taking 1 defensive player, let alone 2 I'm a firm believer that you play the cards that are dealt and if you can steal someone special you do it.

So, it's pork chop time. Who's the best OT in the draft? Okung? Maybe, but I wasn't taking him at 6 and I knew he wouldn't be there at 14. Bulaga is also off the board so I can take him out of the debate.

A lot of these guys are bunched together and it's going to come down to personal preference. We need one of them and I'm going to take the guy that I feel will transition to the pro game right away, start from day 1, and be a pillar that will fit somewhere on my line should he not live up to his potential. In other words, I'm going to take the guy that is the surest not to bust out completely. That said, I think he definitely has pro bowl potential.

With the 14th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select Trent Williams OT from the University of Oklahoma.

The NY Football Giants need several fixes on the defensive side of the ball to return to the playoffs. In fact I would say this team quit after being eliminated from playoff contention. That bothers me. I'm leery of the highest rated player left on most peoples boards. When the Giants won the Super Bowl they had a pass rush that never stopped. It's time to make that pass rush special once again. With the 15th pick of the first round of the CP 2010 Mock Draft the New York Giants select from the University of Michigan defensive end Brandon Graham.

Well that was a fun first round for me. I got to right a wrong on the Lions that has been a cornerstone for their failure for the last decade. On top of that I got select a player so dynamic that not even Greg Robinson's defensive coordination last season could hold him back. In all seriousness, Graham is talent plus want-to and he will be a success in the NFL and life.

I think that Trent Williams at 14 to the Seahawks is a great pick.
