Trade whatever possible for a LT prospect

I don’t care. If there’s a LT in this draft that they feel can be a good quality LT, do it.

I don’t care if it would cost three 1st rd picks. Mahomes is not gonna be this athletic for much longer.

It needs to happen

Still think Conerly is in play still. However I think that Ersery could be there at 63 and he’d be a nice replacement for Jawaan in 2026 IMO.

So we give:

31
63
2026 2nd

We get

20
83
185

And to be clear, I'm not even sure I'd do that. I don't know that I have any desperate desire to move up to 21. I'm just saying that I could see a world where that sort of maneuver is on the table. We have the Titans pick to mitigate moving down from 63 to 83 and we'd also get that pick in the 6th to close up that gap we have on day 3 a bit.

I could see it being somewhat appealing for Veach and it's within spitting distance of a 'fair' deal either direction.
Yeah, I don't think I would trade up in the first AT ALL. I'd love to trade DOWN and pick up some extra capital.

I just don't see anyone likely to be in striking distance that's head and shoulders above several other guys that would just fall to you.

I think rounds 2-3 are really the sweet spot in this draft. Lots of good player potential, but few day one stars.

Not interested in a trade back at all. Veach has done his best work being aggressive and going up for a particular player, like Rice, McDuffie, or Worthy. Settling or trading back for the sake of more capital are how we've ended up with the scrubs like Moore and FAU.

To be fair, we also traded up and targeted Breeland Speaks

Giving more draft picks to a GM who's proven they can find quality players late in the draft is always a good idea.

The more cheap quality players you have the better. That's the whole goal.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Agree wholeheartedly.

Yeah, Darrian Kinnard didn't work out, but when you look at all the Day 3 guys this front office has drafted who have been real assets, the idea of adding Day 3 picks should hold some value.

The talking heads see the same thing a lot of us do - this isn't a great tackle class and even if it was, those late first guys have a pretty high rate of either moving to guard or flaming out altogether.

This is not the draft to get tunnel vision on a tackle.

Absolutely.

I wouldn't take Simmons before 63.

I wouldn't take Conerly over Nolen, Tyleik Williams, Burden, or one of the clear 1st DEs who has fallen.

If it gets to 31, there's a scenario where Conerly is the best guy there.

Wonder if the combine measured these guys wrong or if the programs are embellishing at the pro days?

The biggest takeaways is that Conerly, Benton, and Ersery meet the 34" threshold now.
