Ive got cousins that live in Denver, and theyve been saying for months radio talk out there has said fans wanted Alex Smith. I really didnt want Denver to get Smith as he might have been just good enough to make the Broncos very competitive. I put Kirk Cousins in that same mold, he is definitely an upgrade of what you have now. He will make you more competitive, for sure, but assuring we all know his acquisition will guarantee you the division, is a little far fetched, IMO. I do like your young safety, and think he is going to be a good one.

Denver started the year out great, it's not like it was a disaster from day one.

If Denver has another season like last year you're probably right.

Of course they did. They were still going off what they learned from the previous coaching staff.

Once that wore off and they had to lean on the current guys, the team was lost.

Elway should be no more than a consultant (like Marino in Miami) so the team can hire a legit GM.

I expect that to happen after next season blows up...or 2020 at the latest.

Elway's done a great job. His big mistake was hoping that Siemian or Lynch would take a big jump in 2017. That wasn't really a far-fetched idea at the time, unfortunately for him they both seemed to regress.

He's going to fix it this year. Back in 2016 he didn't have a whole lot of great options. Every single one of his options ( give Brock $72M, trade a 1st for Bradford, trade for Kaepernick, draft Lynch) were bad. This year he has a bevy of excellent options and I have total faith that he'll pick the right one.

Nothing is guaranteed. I think Denver should be the favorite to win it if they sign Cousins, though.

Lolol win what?

The Cleveland Browns will win more games than the Denver Broncos in 2018.

Besides signing Manning, what has Elway done well?

serious question.

Elway built the highest scoring offense in NFL history AND a top 5 of all-time defense in a span of 3 years. Yes, he's done a great job.

Why, though? You're more likely than not going to have to clear cap space by cutting/trading Talib and Sanders, who are top 3 players respectively on each side of your team. Washington allowed only 6 more points than Denver, and they limped to 7-9. Your supporting offensive cast might actually be worse than Washingtons if you get rid of Sanders, and your defense is going to regress even more with the departure of Talib. You claim the Denver defense only allowed so many points because of turnovers, yet Cousins threw 13 interceptions and fumbled the ball 13 times.

Without Manning, Demarcus Ware, Aqib Talib, TJ Ward and Emmanuel Sanders don’t come to Denver on discounts.

It is crystal clear that Manning was the reason for Denver’s success, not Elway. Elway has a losing record in 3 seasons without Manning.

Yep. They've drafted some fine players on D, but without those pieces they're not nearly as good.

Denver needs to revamp the offense. Theres not much there outside of the 2 WR's.

Manning spent 4 years in Denver and went to as many Super Bowls with Denver as he did in 14 years in Indy. And Denver had Manning at the tail end of his career.
