Okay, if that’s the way you want to play it, whatever. Point still stands; no playoff caliber team would trade their WR room for ours. And our offense would be significantly improved if we could make such a trade. But again, jmo.

Just to stir the pot...
Are we "spreading the ball around" because we *want* to, or because we *need* to? My preference would be to have a WR1 that you can depend on, who can take the game over if needed. We're in a unique situation - we can get away with having a room of WR2-WR5's because we have the best QB on the ****ing planet. Quote:

Get back to me when Miami plays anyone worth a damn. Chargers, Patriots, Donkeys...****ing garbage.
They have about 200 yards more passing than the Chiefs against trash. Yay. |

I guess we're gonna ignore the 220 more rushing yards they have as well?
They essentially have an entire GAME of offensive production more than us at the moment. I don't care who they've played - it's impressive. |

There are times where scheme can only do so much or when the defense matches up well. If you have a bunch of sporadic producers you’re gonna have snaps where nobody can beat their matchup. In that case you need some WRs who can win by sheer physical talent. Kelce is so damn matchup proof that we’ve been able to get away with it and juju was a good enough complement. That’s a different mindset. You can’t think of a primary target as a ball hog. They can very well complement an efficient offense by being a safety valve. |

36 is on the Chargers is impressive on its face but then the Titans put up 27 and the Vikings were a tip drill away from 31. That Chargers defense might be pretty bad. Or at least it certainly hasn't come together thus far. I just don't know how you even grade the Broncos game. They just didn't show up. But yeah, Dolphins appear to be a quality squad. I still want to see how they handle adversity after the way they folded up their tents down the stretch last season.

And it’s both; we need to and we want to. Though right now, it’s leaned a lot more towards ‘have to.’

KC is ahead still but I said before the year started that while Cinci was going to take a step back and Buffalo's window closed, Baltimore and Miami with a healthy Tua could be a problem for us in the playoffs. It's real early still but Miami has talent stacked across that roster and added Fangio who is a huge improvement over their D coordinator from last year. Our hope is our new improved Dline can get to Tua.

The "quality" is Patrick Lavon Mahomes and every Super Bowl we've played in with Patrick proves this. The 49ers were a more talented overall team than us but we had Mahomes. The Eagles were a more talented overall team than us but we had Mahomes. The Bucs were a more talented overall team but we had no depth and injuries that piled up. It's also why I think trading Chris Jones is the best bet we have to dominate. This staff has been unbelievably good at drafting since 2020. I cannot for the life of me understand why folks won't take the draft picks and let them stock even more young talent like they did in the Tyreek trade. Worst case we get a CEH, Hardman or Skyy who is actually still somewhat productive bc the staff is a goddamned football ministry capable of utilizing talent.

He looked incredible because the middle of the field was wide open all day and so the degree of difficulty was essentially zero. Meanwhile Belichick went out there with one of the worst overall rosters in football and made Tua's day pretty tough. I'm just saying I'm not gonna crown them just yet.

Vance Joseph sucks, Spags is a lot better. Not crowning them when I think we are still the team to beat. But with a few injuries to the wrong people they could send us home if they stay healthy. We can't afford to lose Kelce.

This is my takeaway as well. Thinking back to the patriots and gronk, they got away with bad wide receivers because of gronk. We seem to be doing the same with kelce.
No need to panic just yet, but kelce isn’t getting any younger and even with Mahomes, I’m not sure how we are gonna continue to win super bowls if we don’t address the wide receiver issue. The only game we lost so far is the game kelce wasn’t playing in, and it was because of some horrendous wide receiver play. |
