TAY-TAY AND TRAVIS ARE DATING

MAKE. BABIES. WIN. TROPHIES.

Quote:
Nearly two months after Travis Kelce tried to give Taylor Swift his number, a source tells The Messenger that the duo has indeed linked up.

"Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out," the source said. "She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago."

The Messenger has reached out to reps for Swift and Kelce for comment.

In July, Kelce tried — and failed — to pass his phone number to Swift ahead of a stop on the singer's record-breaking Eras Tour.

During an episode of the New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said he made a bracelet for the show with the digits of his phone number on the beads.

The two-time Super Bowl champ wanted to gift the homemade jewelry to the pop star ahead of her Kansas City show at Arrowhead Stadium in July, but unfortunately for him, Swift didn't take the bait.

"I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her," Kelce explained on the podcast.

As his brother laughed, Kelce added, "She doesn't meet anybody — or at least she didn't want to meet me, so I took it personal, but it was an unbelievable show."

The pairing comes after Swift and Matty Healy's whirlwind romance came to an end in June after weeks of dating.

"It was a whirlwind romance but Taylor and Matty are now not together. Taylor broke it off with him, and it happened fast," a source told The Messenger at the time. "They had a lot of fun together, and it moved really quickly, but ultimately Taylor wanted to move on and be single."

Swift was linked to Healy in May after she and longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn broke up in April. The 12-time Grammy winner is releasing 1989 (Taylor's Version) on Oct. 27.

It’s like when ESPN told everyone in its sphere that you can’t talk about Tebow enough. They’ve probably been directed to bring it up.

Amazing they have time to talk about football at all today between talking about player WAGs and gambling

Does it matter to me on a personal level who he dates? No, not really. But it's pretty clear to me that Travis loves attention and would love to be a superstar once he retires. Taylor elevates his profile in a way that would bring him opportunities he might not have otherwise, not only because of her notoriety, but because she's clearly extremely savvy on how to generate buzz and build an audience. I think it's great that he might find someone who he respects as an entertainer but he can also learn from (and I like to think she can learn some things from him as well).

Combine that with the fact that Taylor is absolutely, 100% bringing new fans into Chiefs Kingdom - many of whom are making their dads and husbands miserable because they're now rooting for the Chiefs instead of their own team - and it's hard to look at this as anything but a great thing for the Chiefs. Will it all fall apart if things don't work out between them? Sure, maybe. But for now, it's adding an interesting element to a season that's otherwise mostly just a lot of waiting until January for things to get interesting.

So, am I a "Swiftie"? I don't really identify as such, but maybe. I mostly just think it's a fun element, and as long as they're having fun with it, I'm here for it.
I’m not either, but I respect Taylor. A lot. She’s going to make a BILLION DOLLARS this year. The sports world melted when Mahomes signed a contract for 1/2 a billion over a decade. She’s a success on a level that we can’t understand fully.

My 9YO daughter who knows nothing about football and maybe can name Mahomes. Maybe. Asked me about Kelce dating Taylor.

I also respect Taylor because she’s about as wholesome as a major celebrity can be in 2023. She genuinely treats her fans well, and tries to be a good role model. As a dude with an impressionable daughter (who knows about Taylor apparently LOL) that matters to me way more than it used to.

Plus the food bank stuff, plus her trying to fit in here, the list goes on. If she were a **** there’d be no hiding it.

After the first game in Arrowhead, they left in Kelces convertible without an entourage. I heard somewhere that seemed reputable (to my hayseed ass anyway) that she hasn’t been able to do that in well over a decade. She has to go everywhere with an entourage so she doesn’t get mobbed. I can’t even fathom.

I didn’t know that song Clay made the last video was a Swift song. So I’m no Swifty, but Taylor is an interesting case study in 2023 fame and I do find myself respecting her.

We are must see tv. We are the hottest ticket in the planet but some don’t like it because it is impure to football? Embrace it. And just know that the obnoxious barstool crowd is fuming every time Taylor is having fun with Brittany. And they are powerless against the wrath of swifties who resent the trolling.

What a time to be alive. We are the center of the universe. Drink it in.

Before Travis was dating her I can admit that I knew and have listened to some of her music. There are some songs I really like and I've liked the way she treats people. When you see her at awards shows and another artist is on stage singing their popular hit song, she is always dancing and singing along. You see the same thing at Chiefs games. She seems as real of a person as someone that world famous could be. There's something about that that I trust. Now, she does seem to have a bad track record with the guys. Bad enough that you can't say it's always them not her. But let's just hope that if she and Travis go south it happens Valentine's day or after. And then she can write a song about it and we'll continue our rooting interests without the microscope.

I'm going to go ahead and call myself a Swifite because I think now Travis and the Chiefs are connected to that.

You’re on a message board supporting the Chiefs where the guy whose post preceded yours is named Mahomo4Life.

Many people here “worship” Mahomes just as the Swifties “worship” Taylor. What does that term even mean? Respect? Love? Connection?

Taylor Swift has connected with tons of young females and empowered them. Changed their lives even.

Patrick Mahomes has connected with tons of middle-aged Chiefs fans who suffered for 25 years without a playoff win. Changed their lives even.

We were basically at the pinnacle of “athlete worship” in sports with Mahomes before she showed up. Now we’re at the pinnacle of “celebrity worship.” It’s legitimately cool and I feel like we’re in another galaxy.

I think it gets stupid when the tabloids are reporting shit like "Kelce went to Firehouse Subs with a friend.... they were seen smiling at one point" ....and those who religiously follow that shit are mostly the reason it exists in the first place.

Hell, Kelce's been "KC celebrity status" for a while and he's probably tired of that shit by now.

I love Mahomes, but don't need to know how he'd rate his last bowel movement.

Of course. No one is supporting paparazzi coverage of that nonsense. Literally no one.

But would you have even known that’s a thing if it weren’t posted in this thread?

Not here (I assume), but plenty of people do. I wouldn't have known about the Kelce stuff specifically, but I've seen TMZ bullshit before (mostly as it gets posted here, but have seen random stuff on how they operate and follow around people).

I don't know if that's the level of 'worship' Janx was referring to.

Everything ESPN/CBS/Fox is picking up is easily ignorable.. I'd rather not get the extra Swift ESPN alerts each week, but the extra swipes aren't ruining my day. If they weren't showing Swift during the game, it would be some random family member of the Chargers 15 times or whatever.... those things have always existed, it's just that right now it's Swift, Swift, and more Swift.
