The logical thing to think here is that..

If Domenik was told he's not going to be the Chiefs GM, then Pioli is definitely on board.

it was only stated as a rumor. Petro said a source he trusts had told him this... so it is only that.

Logic has everything to do with it.

I'm just saying that it is specious logic to assume they have hired someone - solely because they have marked someone else off the list.

I only share this information because I'm no longer with the team and it's fun to share that a new day is dawning at Arrowhead. Scott Pioli will quickly move to clean out the front office and hire a new coach.

The only info I have on the new coach is it will not be Kirk Ferentz from the Iowa Hawkeyes. Kirk coaches his son at Iowa and does not want to leave until his son graduates.

Mike Shanahan has contacted Pioli, but I don't know any info beyond that.

Also, Amnorix, what's the view of McDaniels up there? He gets mentioned along with Ferentz as the top two candidates should Pioli take a GM job.

Sorry it took me so long to respond.

About what you would expect, we think very highly of McDaniels. In, err, 2006 or whenever there was some criticism of him because everyone thought highly of Weis, but the last two years have proven McDaniels bona fides.

Also, McDaniels also gets more credit for bringing along Cassell than anyone else.

My only question is whether he's too young to run his own program yet. He's only 32 or so, and has been OC for mebbe 4 years. Does he have the leadership skills etc. to do the job? I don't know. I don't think he'll have any trouble with the X's and O's end of it.
