Reid called 9 running plays in the second half. 9. NINE RUNNING PLAYS IN THE 2ND HALF. That is not Smith's fault. I know it sounds disgusting, but Smith played very well in that game. Well enough to win. He was 30 of 46 for 378 yards 4 TDs and NO picks.

I hate Smith but how can any intelligent football fan look at that game and blame it on anyone other than Andy Reid?

Against Tennessee we were up 21-3 at the half. At the end of the 3rd quarter we were up 21-10.

In the second half Reid called 5 running plays. 5. FIVE RUNNING PLAYS.

How can you blame anyone other than Reid for the Tennessee loss? 5 true running plays in the second half with an 18 point lead. I'm sorry, but that loss is completely on Andy Reid.

Yes, he is an offensive genius now that Mahomes is tearing up the league with his awesomeness. But that doesn't change the fact that Reid has mismanaged the clock and his timeouts his entire head coaching career.

Mahomes amazing play so far this year doesn't excuse the bad coaching Reid has done in the past. Fans are acting like he Reid has never made a mistake because he is helping Mahomes to an MVP season.

I will always hate the fact that Alex Smith was our QB, but I will always remember his prefessionalism in the way he helped Mahomes. I will always be grateful to Reid for being part of the brain trust that drafted Mahomes, but until he wipes away the crushing playoff losses he is responsible for, I will never be fully bought into his greatness.

I don't put any blame on Alex for the Indy loss.

The Tenn loss is different. Alex had the chance to end the game in the 4th quarter. 3rd and (5?). And the first thing he does when he steps back is get spooked (with literally zero pressure), miss open receivers, and run straight into a sack.

Alex had the opportunity to win the game for us there - and he couldn't get it done.

At least in the Indy loss, he got a ball to Bowe that was a doable (if not a very difficult) catch - Bowe just couldn't get both feet in.

I blame Andy, Alex, Bowe, God and everyone else for the Indy loss.

It damn near broke me as a Chiefs fan. I will NEVER understand how we lost that game. Absolutely nothing about that loss makes sense even looking back on it today. There aren't enough "Because Chiefs" in the world for that loss to make sense.

Until this team actually WINS a Super Bowl, I will never believe we will precisely because of that loss. That is verifiable proof that God hates the Chiefs. The only thing that can convince me otherwise is proof that he doesn't. And if you truly hated the Chiefs, you wouldn't keep Mahomes from them. Nooooooo, that's too easy. You'd GIVE them Mahomes, then continue to pull the chair out from under them over and over and over again.

Mahomes may just be God's next-level trolling of the Chiefs and their fans.

Because Chiefs.

Is that the play where he (Bowe) looked totally gassed running to the end zone? I can't remember?

No, it's the play where the fat bastard just decided that dragging his feet was for suckers.

Smith trailed him too far out of bounds; it wasn't a good throw, but it wasn't a bad one either. It could've been caught with a modicum of effort. Bowe just didn't make any.

How about not polluting the Mahomes thread with discussions about that scrub. There’s a well titled thread in the romper room to discuss the fine arts of of checkdown passing.

You got that right. Also, no discussions about playoff losses under said scrub either. This is a new day.

Besides the Yankees blowing a 3-0 series lead to the Red Sox, that might be the biggest gut punch I've ever received as a fan. I actually had to get in the car and drive around after that Chiefs game, even with friends at my house. I couldn't sit. It was disgusting.

That loss, coupled with the completely predictable disappointment of 2014 gutted my Chiefs fandom.

It's why my Chiefs buddy and I told our Bronco fans that we were losing the Titans game the moment it became 21-10 (they thought we were crazy, until they didn't).

That loss is why I have no faith in Andy in the playoffs, but Mahomes may just be talented enough to overcome Andy's playcalling and clock-management deficits in January. ANNND that brings us back to the topic. Mahomes will hopefully add a lot of content in here tonight.
