Please tell me how KC defense is going to stop our offense?

You might remember Derrick Henry had just rushed for 180yds+ in 3 consecutive games. That was an NFL record. And people talked about their offensive scheme like it was unstoppable.

We then proceeded to hold him to 69yds and his lowest average per carry since week 6.

Not sure why that would make it impossible to stop your rush. And then it's Garappolo throwing the ball? We've feasted on less mobile QBs this year.

So, that's how. Or you can look at how we did the same to Dalvin Cook earlier in the season who looks a lot more like Mostert.

Pretty much the same way it stops every other offense.

Get one stop when a score gives us the lead.

Get one stop with the lead. Lead increases.

Double dip by the offense end of half/start third quarter.

Your gameplan becomes one dimensional, and Jimmy Gamemanager is gonna have to carry the team with his arm, with Frank Clark and Chris Jones all over him.

Shanahan is TERRIFIED to put the ball in Jimmys hands. Hell, he only let him throw 8 passes, and he STILL damn near threw a pick lol.

When you get down 2 possessions and the game falls on Jimmy G, its over.

Seen quite a few Niner folks around the Internet saying this will be a repeat of their Montana/Marino Super Bowl.

I sure hope their coaches are ignorant enough about Mahomes to think he's a statue like Marino. He's more like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers with an even better arm than them. He has incredible instincts against the pass rush. Not saying he will pull a Houdini miracle on every single play, but he will occasionally do some stuff that makes the elite Niners pass rush look pretty foolish. He's made a career of this against elite pass rushers both in college and the NFL.

My suspicion is that Vegas is probably correct and this will be a very competitive game. I don't think either team gets blown out and I would not be surprised if both teams make it to 30+ points.

The Titans were more efficient running the ball than the Niners this year. And we completely shut them down without loading the box. I’d link the DVOA stats but it’s not worth the effort.

We didn't stack the box against Henry. Well, we did 11% of the time. The rest of the time we played him straight up.

And you're missing the point.

See, our defense doesn't have to stop your offense. It only has to keep them from scoring more than their season average. Which is about 45% of their possessions.

Our offense scores on about 60% of our possessions.

See where this is going? If your offense punts five times in the Super Bowl, they're going to lose, simple as that.
