50 Beers to Try Before You Die
Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).
http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984 (CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"? How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

Really like Shafly's Kolsch. I already like the style, and theirs is good. Only problem is that it's way too drinkable for the price. Very easy to knock back a sixer.

Farmhouse Ales were brewed for the diligent farmhands who drew the short straw and had to work the arduous harvest. Our brewmaster’s expression blends the spiciness of a Farmhouse Ale with the tartness of a Flanders Red for a remarkably refreshing finish.

I think you might want to try a classic Flanders Red before you judge it. I get some tartness from 80 acre, but it's nothing like a Duchesse or a Rodenbach Grand Cru. I'd bet on it. Point being, just because they're trying to get some tartness in the finish doesn't mean that it's a sour beer.
The blue moon beer is technically a Saison/Farmhouse ale, and that style has a very different flavor profile than a Flanders Red. WAY different. |

Considering that this was announced in 2011, I would be surprised if it hasn't been posted somewhere around here. Regardless, this is the first I've heard about it and it is getting ready to debut, so here you go:
Hanson, that's right, the former Tiger Beat heartthrob band Hanson, is releasing a beer by the name Mmmhops Pale Ale. http://beerpulse.com/2013/05/hanson-...ow-exists-428/ |

Popped my first Love Child 3 last night. Loved that beer. I was going to send one to my brother in Montana in a swap for some huckleberry/jalapeno jelly I use to make a bbq sauce, but I don't think I can do it. They're mine, all mine.

Can anyone recommend a smartphone app that would tell you the hop profile of the beer I am drinking at the time.
Example: I am curious about what is in this delicious beer in my hand, and I open my app and type in Sierra Nevada, and Pale Ale. The app returns this information: Malts: Two row Pale, Caramel Yeast: Ale yeast Bittering Hops: Magnum, Perle Aroma Hops: Cascade ABV: 5.6 IPU: 38 I like to put a name on a particular flavor I am noticing.
