50 Beers to Try Before You Die

Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).

http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984
(CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?

How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

They'll be at the Parkville microbrewfest today, too... tried their porter last night. Pretty tasty.

Who else went to the Microwbrew Fest? Find any new favorites?

We started with Blind Tiger's Java Porter, which was pretty tasty... one of the better coffee beers I've tried... and we stuck with stouts and porters throughout (once you go black...).

We tried several that didn't really stick out of the crowd (Hey, look, here's a stout with chocolate, coffee, and caramel notes!), but the one that did was River City Brewing's 4 Horsemen Imperial Stout... aged in Wild Turkey barrels with cherries. Anyone know if it's available outside of their restaurant? It was pretty damn good.

I wanted to give Boulevard's grape beer a try, but figured I wouldn't get much out of it after all the stouts. I was disappointed with ODell's lack of offerings, but there was plenty of other good beer. Good times.

The Boulevard Test Nelson was really good. Like 3 pours good. Light and easy drinking. The Nebraska barrel aged stuff was awesome as usual. River City's beers were very good too. The Imp Stout you mentioned earlier and Macy's Halo were really, really tasty. We got to hang at the Boulevard tent towards the end and put down some Love Child 3 and Rye on Rye, a special treat.

Anybody try any of the Peace Tree stuff yesterday? Friend of mine started that brewery and it's in my hometown. I love their delicious concoctions.

Tried Ska Brewing's Hibernal Vinifera Stout tonight... a stout with malbec grape juice. I've seen Hoperandi around, so I'll have to look for this next time... pretty good stuff.

KC locals, keep your eyes peeled at your favorite watering hole for a Boulevard KC only tap release. It's called Tripel Julep; Long Strange Tripel aged in bourbon barrels and infused with mint leaves.

Yep, Nelson Sauvin hops. Muscat grape juice added to the malt and fermented with champagne yeast. Very tasty and sessionable.

I'm not sure if this has already been asked or not.

But do any of you all use Untappd? It's a pretty cool app that lets you post and follow friends to keep up with what one another is trying or drinking. I follow my local beer guy and some friends, it's a nice resource.

I use Untappd, more or less to track what I've tried and what my friends are drinking.

I use untappd regularly - cool app, and a great way to track the beers I've had.

Drinking a Stone Espresso IRS tonight, and cheering on the Wild. Mighty tasty...
