He's already done it with a bunch of rookies. Those rookies are now 3rd year guys and solid starters.

The Eagles have the same offense other than a worse line and adding Barkley. And this offense is EXTREMELY Predictable.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

biggest issue is containing their offense. id hate to be in spags shoes right now because this is such a difficult task. you have to account for saquon at all times while also keeping hurts/brown/goedert in check... and say what you want about hurts but he looked fine yesterday. with two more weeks to add to his recovery his mobility won't be in question imo.
Hurts looked good but Washington was also kind of outkicking their coverage on defense all year. They're not a particularly great defense. But much of the year hurts has looked really bad as a passer. Even with defenses gunning to stop saquon

I’m guessing his plan last night was for the Bills to go away from what was killing us. We didn’t shut down Cook, the Bills did.

Because we held them after the long drive.

The pressure of playing KC rots the brain. It's consistent. It happens every game in the playoffs. And every game we normally allow a ton of rushing yards in the 1st half and shut it down in the second.

Looking at the Eagles, it is kind of the same story as Bills-Ravens for their defense.

They feasted on turnovers by a team that commits them at a much higher rate than the Chiefs do. Otherwise, the opposing team moved the ball consistently and well against their defense.

The the Redskins' defense is neither as talented nor as creative as the Chiefs. KC can match up better against their receivers (I like Watson on Brown and McDuffie on Smith when KC is in man), has better LB that defend the run better, and is better up front.

Saquon Barkley is a game-breaking and changes their offense by adding a very explosive element in the run game.

But this Eagles team is still, overall, not as good or dominant as the one KC beat 2 years ago.

I wonder if Spags decided to play Dime last night and concede the run and prevent Allen from beating us. Cook didn't do much in the regular season meeting, but ran wild on us last night.

Is this where we once again for the 20th week in a row convince ourselves the only possible outcome is winning by 4 touchdowns?

Hurts looked just fine throwing the ball around yesterday despite his knee. He was also plenty mobile to get them a 10-yard TD run. He might not be able to run all over the yard but he doesn't need to for them to be a dangerous offense.

The Eagles are every bit as good as the Ravens, if not a bit better because of their talent at WR. We're going to have to bring our A-game to beat them.

Honestly, this game concerns me more than Buffalo did in terms of how we match up defensively. Saquon's ability to bounce runs outside as well as get to the corner on runs specifically to the outside will force our DEs and LBs to be extremely disciplined. We also will have to tackle far better than we did against Buffalo. We won't have help as much from the DBs either given that they are stacked at WR and TE.

I do like our passing offense against their defense. I think our overall speed really is a mismatch for their DBs. Washington gave them fits with less, especially on crossers.

eh would not call allowing 35 points and forcing 2 total punts, containing an offense

may be a worse line but it is still one of the best ones in the league. also lets not sugarcoat the addition of barkley here. its not like we're adding a spoiler to a car; it's more like dropping a turbocharged v8 into an already humming offense.

I don’t think Saquon is that much better than CMC last year. I think the formula is gonna be the same. Chris, Pennel, Karlaftis and Danna up front with Leo on the strong side wrecking shit.

They did that the last 2 SB’s and it’s gonna happen again.

Saquon has taken advantage of some really piss poor tackling. He’s not gonna get that luxury this game
