It sounds like he wasn’t that big of a commodity for some reason
That’s how I’ve always read the situation. The guy wouldn’t be a good fit. Veach has been intentional about bringing in veteran locker room guys to mentor the younger receivers. It helps that they’re skilled, wise, humble and actually produce too.

I am curious if KC was as interested in him as rumored as I can’t see any reason why Veach doesn’t make that trade before pursuing Hopkins.

They have a tough remaining schedule. They're highly inconsistent with a bottom 5 defense. I don't think we see them in the playoffs. Plus, rather have Hopkins.

Well, they would have to play the Chiefs again for this to make any difference.

Ravens are loading up on deep threats because defenses are mostly playing cover 1 to stop the run against them. Good thing Lamar sucks at throwing it deep.

A pick swap of likely only 4 places and 600k on salary. How does bullshit like this happen?

I’m bummed we didn’t get this one given the price. But I’ll remind myself that this is a guy who can’t stay healthy and was notorious for quitting on his team mid game with the Steelers. So anyways, onwards and upwards

Johnson is especially good at beating man coverage. Not too crazy to believe that the Ravens were at least partially thinking of the Chiefs’ defense in the playoffs when they made the move.

Pretty much this...

Stop the run and make Lamar beat you with the pass.

Until he does it, you gotta just play him this way.
