Yeah, I don't care for either team and both spend 3x what other teams do. Baseball needs a real salary cap however the large market teams don't really want to share the wealth. And... I don't blame them. It just isn't as fun for the rest of us baseball fans.

Freddie Freeman was +4000 to win WS MVP. Didn't pull the trigger because they said his ankle was bad. I bet Mookie Betts at +900 instead.

I can't believe they sent Stanton there.

This is so funny. National media creamed their panties over this series and it’s highly possible it’s a non competitive sweep. Game one was historic but the rest is just the Yankees getting exposed. Love to see it.

Just goes to show how far down the trough Rizzo has slid. They would rather bank on an errant throw (the only chance in hell Stanton had of scoring there) than let Rizzo hit as the tying run.

That's not the reason for no salary cap.

The MLBPA willing to sit out and lose an entire season to fight a salary cap is why it's never been close to being implemented.

Interesting, how do I find out their reasoning behind this fight? Who runs the MLBPA? Is that a union?

Other than the players having no limit on the money they can make? What other reason would there be?

Not every player plays for the teams that spend the most money? What about in the interest of fairness? Yeah, as soon as I typed that I realized how dumb that sounds today.

Even bigger problem is if they ever manage to strongarm the players into a salary cap, a large handful of the owners will fight against the subsequent salary floor that will almost certainly have to be implemented tooth and nail.

Yeah I know. I wish more players thought like that (BWJ kinda does. He could’ve gotten way more $ on the open market) but it’s not reality today.
