The 10pm thread (archived)
The big anti-hijack thread.....
Talk about anything, but if this works than we don't have to keep looking around all the threads to see who is still on tonight, and every night, or even every day! Talk about the chiefs, talk about tomorrow, talk about football, politics or even how to do flooring and the applicable budget. What you're drinking, how hard it is to sleep, etc. Every thing is acceptable in this thread..... http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...om.html?sort=2 see for yourself, it is ten o'clock somewhere. I won't. I love that commercial though. I've been trying to find it for a long time. "Kiss me, I'm on TV" |

Probably hurtin' from their Cinco De Mayo drinkin'. I'd probably be hurtin' if it weren't for the food from Vallarta. That place rules! (first time eating their meats and salsa's - can you tell?)

We went out to a friend's place in the West Valley. They had bought pre-marinated carne asada and chicken from Vallarta's, along with corn salad, and three different types of salsa. Suffice to say, it was absolutely incredible. Just freakin' awesome. The wife and I brought two bottles of Cabo Wabo Tequila and 24 Pacifco's. All that food and a pool - good times.
I looked it up on the Yahoo yellow pages when I got home and they're a small chain. The closest to us is at Vineland & Burbank Blvd (right around there). I highly recommend it and if you do get food from there, let me know what you think. |

Oh, as much as we like TJ's for good eats, it's not even in the same ballpark. It's like Taco Bell versus El Cholo.

Oh, dude, Vallarta's is a Mexican grocery store?
THere's one on Roscoe Blvd. and Owensmouth, between Topanga and Canoga That's right where I grew up. I worked at 2-for-1 Pizza right across the street from where that market is. It used to be a Volkswagen dealership. 2 bottles of tequilla and a case of beer? I hope it was more than 4 of you! You can bring that stuff over here and jump in our pool anytime! |

Yeah, there were about 10 "adults" but 4 of us pretty much polished it all off. We did stick around until 1am so that we could drive home (their place is near Balboa Park - only about 10 minutes to the Cahuenga exit with no traffic). A pool? Damn, Holmes! We almost bought a brand new home on the hillside right behind us because of the promise of a pool. We backed out of the deal when we were in Italy and now I'm exploring the idea of putting a fiberglass pool in our patio area. The only problem we have is the 30 foot tall retaining wall and geologicals. So we'll see. We'll definitely have to do some drinkin' this summer, somewhere. Your place or mine. At least we're close enough to possibly cab it (one way, any way!). |
