Gonna go down as on one of the best offenses ever. It should anyways. Veach knew it when he brought in Watkins.
And we'll have the same damn offense again next season. At worst, we lose Conley.

Pretty incredible really.

Mahomes is an incredible talent, but every time you hear a story about the coaching he's done with Reid, you realize how lucky Mahomes was as well.

The 'interception week' in training camp where everyone was freaking out in the national media is a remarkable one and Mahomes specifically cited it when he was talking about the TD pass he threw to Kelce with that not even a window window.

He said he'd have never been able to make that pass last season and even struggled to start with in camp. But then Reid told him 'look - try EVERY throw, even ones you're not making and might get picked. We want those on tape and once we get the film of them, we'll fix 'em..."

I'd always seen whole affair as more of a 'lets see what you can do and not do' kind of exercise and they were going to train Mahomes on what throws he should avoid. No - it was much more than that. It was also to see what throws he is trying to make, isn't making but could.

I mean that's just remarkable foresight and coaching from Reid. It wasn't just to break him of bad habits, it was to teach him how to make some of these otherwordly throws.

Reid is a friggen wizard, that's just all there is to it. Mahomes gives him a talent he's never had, but Reid makes Mahomes more than anyone in the league would've made him and the more I hear about how he's worked with Pat, the more convinced of that I am.

Yup.

It’s a beautiful marriage and I hope Andy is here at least 10 more years. I really do think we could win multiple titles.

I’m extremely excited for Byron Pringle taking over for Chris Conley. He looks like a really good find.

Andy is doing a good job but the otherworldly throws are all Pat. He didn’t need Andy to make those kind of throws in high school or college.

Where Reid has really helped Pat was giving him a bunch of weapons that know how to get open. Kelce, Tyreek, and Kareem all drafted 3rd round or later. Very impressive job by Reid and his scouts to get those guys. Throw in really good schemes and playcalling from Reid. All of that is very helpful to a young QB.

Exactly, but it does help to have everything fall into place before you land on a team, which no one can deny that, more importantly tho we're very lucky to have Mahomes here.

True, but you have to have a QB with the right disposition/balls/attitude to do it in the first place, and Mahomes has that in spades. He’s not just a guy with an insane arm that was well coached. He was special regardless

Only if they win the SB. Otherwise it'll be, "remember that one time the Chiefs had a really good offense".

Andy played this thing beautifully and his patience is paying enormous dividends.

Pat is damn lucky that he ended up here. Coming into the league into this type of situation never happens.
He would be doing pretty good with the Bears right now. They have their fair share of weapons plus Nagy. And they have an actual defense to help win games. He would be getting paid a hell of a lot more money as the #2 pick.

A lot of the all-time great offenses didn’t win the Super Bowl, and we still remember them. I immediately think of the ‘98 Vikings, ‘13 Broncos, ‘07 Patriots...

Don’t get me wrong, I’d much rather win the SB than to become one of those teams that woulda/coulda/shoulda... but I don’t think anyone forgets this offense regardless.

'07 Pats and '98 Vikings absolutely scream to the front of my mind when talking about great offenses.

I agree - it doesn't take a SB win to go down as an historically great offense. Though in this era, with so many good offenses anyway, if the Rams or Saints go out there and score within a point or 2/gm of us in the regular season then go on to win the SB, it's far more likely that history will remember them.

Those standout offenses we're thinking of didn't win it all but they were head and shoulders above anyone else in football those years. The Chiefs are better than the rest of the league but not so much so that it's good enough to remember them, especially if one of those other teams take the Lombardi...

Pat’s a show, though, and that will be remembered, IMO.

I really like that, with this insane offense, we spend at least as much time talking about how to improve the defense. I don't think - like a lot of those high-powered offenses - that anyone is simply saying "Not a problem! We'll just outscore everyone!"

The coaching staff, players, fans, media... everyone knows this team will have to be able to stop someone in order to win in the playoffs. Hell, just getting ONE more stop than the other team can do it.
