They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

I get Mvs’ role but the dude disappears for long stretches of the game.

Juju had 8+ targets in 8 of his starts last year. I don’t see skyy/Watson or especially Mvs doing that. That doesn’t mean they’re bad. They’re just sporadic producers. Especially with a raw WR room you’ll have lots of spots where mahomes wont like what he sees. And that’s where a primary target comes in real handy. But even better if you also had a bailout guy where mahomes can throw it up for his WR to go get it which is the exciting potential rashee brings.
Well, dude, ya don't. Get over it. I get that you would do things differently, but there wasn't a guy in the price range we had available. So you don't get your guy.

I think the guys in charge have a pretty good track record. I'm going to trust they know what they're doing. I'm done trying to explain. You just want to bitch.

Like I said, I’m optimistic rice can become that guy and I’m eager for him to get that shot. And I’m not sweating if we want to ease him along.

But until that time it’s a gap. Which is fine and it’s part of a “rebuild” process. But having a bunch of 2-4 target guys without a primary target isn’t ideal. I think it’s asking a shit ton from kelce. And you’ll continue to see mahomes look a lot more uncertain and untrusting, which we know is uncharacteristic. Again, that is fine, but if we believe this will be a learning process let’s be realistic about the limitations early on.

'Gap'? Man, there are ALL KINDS OF GAPS. There always will be, there's a salary cap, and free agency, and no team is without weakness. We had gaps last year all the way through, and we won the damned thing. We won a SB with Dan ****ing Sorensen starting at safety. There's a ****in' gap, for ya. We won with Wylie at RT, (he blows goats). He might be the worst starting offensive tackle in the history of the Super Bowl. ****in' terrible. Big gap.

We're two weeks in. Things will be much clearer the last half of the season.

I don't think anyone expected 8 drops or whatever in week one, but Kelce being out, it looked to me like guys just trying to do too much. If that doesn't happen, I don't think anyone's having this conversation.

Travis is THAT GUY. He's always been. He wasn't there week one, and wasn't probably 100% in week two.

Looks to me like Veach beefed the shit out of the defense knowing the young guys at WR might need a little time.

We should be humming when we get to the tough part of the schedule. It's going to be fine.

I mean, Jesus. I can’t make it any more clear that I said it’s OKAY to have early gaps. And that we have good potential to fill them later in the season.

You keep saying there will be bumps early on yet seem incensed that I bring up we will have gaps early on. I know it’ll probably be fine. I directly said I’m eager and patient about giving these guys time to develop. How much clearer can I be?

We will get it worked out eventually. But until then it’s a gap we have to work through. And that’s okay.

Curious why Hollywood wouldn't be a good fit? Isn't he sort of Tyreek-light for half the cost?

High AF right now eating DORITOS (that's for you PMII) watching this All-22 and....goddamn Toney is so freakin' talented.

The fact that he can't stay healthy is a crime against all football fans. This guy could be sensational if he could string together a complete season. It's a damn shame, really. This kid could be a superstar.

Thought I'd take a look at last year's offense over the first 2 weeks as per PFF scores

Week 1 - JJSS scored 55, OBJ's pass-blocking was 53 though Wylie's remarkably was 78 (?!) - Moore had an 80 on limited snaps and Fortson scored well, slightly making up for the poor JJSS performance. IOL blocked well. Most importantly, Kelce was a stud - 90

Week 2 - JJSS scored 52, OBJ pass-blocked at a pathetic 29, Wylie was at 50, IOL blocked OK, Hardman got a 70. Watson 76 on limited snaps. Mahomes passed at 62. Basically a lot of average, and we snuck a win.

Compare that to the first 2 weeks this year and actually our OTs have PBd better though worse in run-blocking, our WRs have been roughly in the same spot, Toney got a 70-odd Week 2, Rice an 80 Week 1. Mahomes' passing was high 60s Week 2, again, about the same. The one exception is that our IOL has perhaps blocked slightly worse, especially Creed (apparently) but really, again, in the same ball-park.

Take PFF with a pinch of salt obviously, but I guess my takeaway is - this is basically last year's start performance-wise, and that's without Jones and Kelce on our loss, new OTs, Pacheco and Toney coming back from lay-offs and no TC. At this point, if anything, it reinforces the point we just need to wait and see but no need to panic.

Last year’s first two included one of their most efficient offensive games ever.

I said this yesterday. They need to force feed the guy the ball. This whole spreading it around thing is fine sometimes, but they need to get it in Toney's hands as much as they can.
