Could the Giants at 34 want to trade up ahead of Cleveland at 33 to draft Milroe?

it's not a complete waste.

It's just incredibly risk averse. It suggests that they don't believe they can get 80% the production for a fraction of the cost.

I guess I have more faith in them than they do.

I really don't understand it. And I will REALLY not understand it if they go with an OT in the first round.

Uh...fellas....just how many spots do you think you have available on that OL at that point? Especially when Jaylon Moore was a tire fire at RT in SF and Joshua Simmons injury to his POWER LEG means he can't play RT or something like that...

We kept CJ Hanson on the roster all year -- there had to be SOME reason for that? Nourzad is around. OGs exist on the 2nd day of the draft every single season and often the 3rd day.

It just seems like a really poor use of resources. One of those situations where we figured out how to clear the cap so we might as well spend it. And I just think that's a poor decision.

yeah, I've turned more towards Harmon because I cannot talk myself into this idea that a guy as dominant as Nolen can be is going to fall to the back of the 1st.

(Underdog should spell his name right, though).

Yea, hoping for Harmon, and to a lesser degree, Kenneth Grant.

So really it would need to happen like yesterday. I do not see Smith being an easy contract.
Hypothetically, I’d rather trade Trey for Hendrickson. Don’t they both make in the 25 million dollar range? Paying 25 million to the guy who’s regressed the last 2 seasons, seems like a very poor decision. Hendrickson would make more of an impact on this team than Smith does.

Obviously the Been’gals would never trade with us, but would love a trade like this!

Derrick Harmon had a private visit with the Steelers and they have a big need for a DL like him. He also fits them really well. I don’t buy the QB stuff with them.

Hope it doesn’t happen but I’m expecting them to take him if he’s available

We're all hyper focused on the Chiefs taking a left tackle or defensive linemen, with some of us holding on to the pipe dream of another stud first round receiver (ahem), but what are the realistic chances that they're eyeballing a corner or possibly a safety as a move up potential? Any names worth moving up for?

After signing Mike Edwards, it appears very unlikely that they would take a S early.

There's a shot they take a CB early, but my guess is no earlier than pick 95.

I think it's VERY likely going to be DL or OL, with a small chance it's a RB/CB/WR. Maybe a LB if Jihaad Campbell somehow fell.

I believe the bonus money would need to be factored into this season's cap even if the final year of the rookie deal remains unchanged.

I mean I guess I don't specifically recall since we NEVER seem to sign our extension eligible guys before they finish out their walk year anymore....

Still completely bizarre to me that we didn't get this done with Smith last season if we're suddenly interested in doing it now. We learned nothing we didn't already know and simply cost ourselves a lot more money.

This has been handled pretty poorly by Veach.
My guess is they were going to let Smith walk and keep Thuney until they saw Suamatia play left guard and decided to trade Thuney and keep smith.

Every year you get absolutely hooked on a stupid trade idea and you never let it go. MVS, Smith, etc. Just let it go man. Madden has rotted your brain.
