Even with how rich the Yankees and Dodgers are, I don't see how they can both realistically offer Soto the biggest contract. Steinbrenner is already saying their payroll is unsustainable and they have a 10+ million dollar discount on Soto right now. Both teams have huge commitments to 3-4 players. Adding another one is going to put them in tax hell for a decade.
The Mets have so much good damn money coming off the books this year. If Soto is leaving the Yankees, my pick would be the Mets to landing him. |
