*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Mahomes is either a HOFer or the equivalent of playing with Randy Moss

im rewatching the patriots game, and oddly enough the mahomes nbc interview.

within a 30 second span i watch kelce sit back and stop his route as to not draw the defenders towards hills 75 yard touchdown grab/run. And in the interview Pat states how Kelce is able to 'draw' defenders in order to clear lanes for others.

it was a great moment for me to see these two random instances occur, only to prove what destiny KC has in front of them.

I agree. If he tries that against the Ravens or someone like that, then they're going to eat him up.

At the same time, his belief in his arm is what makes all sorts of other plays.

That play is what was being talked about during the draft process. There are some moments where Pat is going to say **** it and just chuck it in there. He's had a few so far in his career but they've worked out. Hopefully he continues to tone those down. But I think he saw that the defense wasn't stopping the Pats and he knew that it was up to him to get something going.

Yeah, it was a 'Texas Tech' throw.

I agree - dude got lucky. If he puts it where he wants to, it's almost certainly intercepted. But he missed enough that the DB overran it and since it was right in front of Conley he was able to adjust on it. I'd like to say that was by design but I just don't see how it could've been with the pressure he had bearing down on him.

But he was in desperation mode and trying to make things happen that weren't really there. It was more defensible than the Jags INT because he NEEDED to get the ball downfield and put points on the board so he was taking risks (as opposed to the 2nd Jags pick...that was just dumb).
