*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

And the move for Gurley frees Hunt up for a deal for a defensive upgrade.
well, yes he is. but overall I don't think the team is better. I don't think Goff is anywhere near as good as Mahomes. Gurley is a little better than Hunt but wouldn't be the difference in winning and losing here. I don't want to speculate on further trades due to talent glut that is all hypothetical anyway. Whatever, I don't like it, I wouldn't do it.

Goff is just Matt Ryan II.

The only QB I'd trade Mahomes for is Wentz, and only if he came with Fletcher Cox and Jordan Hicks.

And even then I'd probably be watching Eagles games with jealousy.

It doesn't matter - no deal will ever get done. And while Goff isn't a better QB than Mahomes, he might be a more accurate pure passer. He can't create as well as Mahomes but g'damn he throws an accurate deep ball. He's put some balls right on a dime downfield this year.

And Gurley is a lot better than Hunt, IMO. When combined with the ability to move Hunt in a deal for an ILB or safety, I think there's a way to make the defense quite a bit better there.

But again, it's all rosterbation; the Rams would never make that deal even if the Chiefs would. And if you got it to a level the Rams would make it, the Chiefs wouldn't.

The nature of the conversation itself speaks to just how incredibly valuable Mahomes is, though.

Patrick Mahomes- Record Breaker:

Mahomes is now tied with Tyler Thigpen with 18 TD's on the career list. It took Tyler 16 games while taking 20 plus sacks for losses to move into the 18th spot.

If Mahomes throws for 4 more this weekend- his 22 TDs will tie:
Dave Krieg- who threw 22 Td's in 28 Games; and
Steve Fuller- who did it at a blistering pace in 52 Games

Yardage- Mahomes ranks 18th All Time now after passing this guy;
Tony Adams- who passed for 2126 yards in 50 Games from 1975- 78- let that sink in...it took Tony slinging the ball for 50 games to equal Mahomes after just 7 games.

Mahomes now holds the record for 8.7 yards per attempt; perspective, former record holders Dawson and Green used to own the record at 7.7 Y/A
Mahomes is throwing a full yard more per pass and 1.5 yards more than Alex Smith ( 7.2 Y/A)

Mahomes also has a 107.2 QBR- by far the highest in Chiefs history.

Anyone listen to Simms?

He said on the first opening drive for Pat, he glanced at the skycam when he was in the huddle. Simms said he could tell Mahomes was amped up and a little excited.

I’ll have to check it out.
